Su-30MK (No:603) in 1/72 scale - Heller Su-27UB based

Recommended Posts

The Zvezda Su-30SM kit has Kab-500kr bomb but some improvements are needed.

I have cloned the bomb's body and the entire Trumpeter Su-34 KAB-500L bomb to take its tail fins:

Now the only missing parts are 6 x FAB-250-M54 bombs and MBD3-U6-68 Multiple Bomb Racks...

Hi Serkan, just like what you do when you need extra items, l will just cast this and that. Do you use a pressure pot for your castings ?

Thanks Robert, it takes a bit time but makes fun 🙂

Yes I use a pressure pot up to 3 bar which is in fact the paint pressure tank.

After spending a bit time in web search I saw that having 6 FAB-250-M54 resin bombs will cost me more than 15€ including shipping. For such tiny and simple parts it is too much. As I gained significant experience in 3D printing I decided to print my own FAB-250-M54 bombs...

And here is the STL model imported to Chitubox:

I have also scaled up that bomb to 1:48 scale to use in my ongoing Su-35UB project:

It will take 2,5 hours to see the result... 🙂

I made some progress on this project as well. The AA-10 missiles were painted to white and the black strips were cut from 0.08mm thick dull black vinyl film:

Most of the missiles and bombs have been loaded:

The only missing loads are the KAB-500L and FAB-250-M54 bombs. This project is now very close to "RFI".
