Hi there! First I'd like to wish you all an happy new year! Health, happiness and brouzoufs for 2022! To start 2022 nicely, I've opened a box that should please you Brits. The very nice looking Hawker Hunter F.6 from Revell in 1/72! There were some goodies in the box, but after a quick look at the sprues, I've decided not to use, as I just want to keep the build simple. Modeller's datafile say this is a nice kit, with just a few errors/problems, most of them easy to correct. I only regret the lack of external load, with only a pair of tank and Sidewinders. I've in the stash an old Xtradecal decal sheet dedicated to International Hunters, and the one and only F.6 there suits me well. So be it, my Hunter'll be Saudi.

Yup…..I have too many in progress but…. I recently found out that this Airfix 1973 tooled Strikemaster and issued in 2008 with new decals has RSAF markings. Without hesitation, I bought it since I had built one during my teenage days. The decal shows sign of a kit kept too long on the shelf, so I decided that I shall build it. The panels lines and latches are raised (some too high), so I would need to sand them and scribe the lines. A simple build made difficult, just like my other build. The cockpit is also too simple, so I will see what I can do to improve. Looks like I need to visit the Air Force Museum to get some pictures of this Strikemaster.

Here is one that has been languishing on the SOD for about 4 years and started back in 2019. Here is the original build thread I managed some paining of fuel tanks and the leading edge slats that have now been installed. In one of my recent moves the nose gear leg broke so and I could not find the missing section so I dove into the spares and found an Italeri nose gear leg that has been installed

BAC Lightning F3 53-692/L 13 Sqd RSAF, Tabuk 1977 Ok so just finished this today and rather pleased with the outcome! It is one of two Saudi Air Force machines they did in camouflage in 1977 - this being the one with the wrap around camo. The other one had a sky blue underside with camo top. It is the Airfix F6 kit and I used Model Alliance decals and some aftermarket for the bang seat. Paints are Tamiya and Gunze and Alclads and I am particuarly pleased with the nose ring as I must have re-done that 10 times to get it right! Chris ty pleased with the nose ring as I must have re-done that 10 times before I got it

Hello Everyone, This is the project I decided upon for the Lesser Built Air-Forces GB I did actually finish my projects on time (just) but being the lazy bugger I am, I have only just taken the pictures of it. I would like to thank Cliff C, Col. & Robvulcan for hosting the GB they did a fantastic job and of course Mish who puts a lot of her free time into the running of the GB's in general. I will buy you all a beer if I ever meet you The project I decided upon was a Gate Guardian of sorts for the Royal Saudi Air Force and the aircraft is based on a round about at RSAF Tabuk (if you click here it should take you to it's location in Google Earth). As far as I have found, there is only about 8 pictures of this actual aircraft. I did not get the correct serial codes for the aircraft, that will be done in due course. But I am calling her complete for the time being. Onto the pictures The SNEB (is that the correct term?) pods where taken from the Revell 1/144 Hawker Hunter kit and I scratch built the plyon myself. The base is quite literally a 5 minute job, with some acrylic stolen... *borrowed* from work. Let me know what you think. Kind Regards, Dazz

Hello All, As in the title I am still not too sure what to make for this one as I have a few options. I will list them below and see what everyone thinks. I love the paint work some of the RSAF's aircraft have, I will try to replicate it to the best of my abilities in 1/144! Yay! Onto the first candiate. The first one, and the one I am leaning the most to is the Hawk. Not the display team The Saudi Hawks (Wiki link) but an actual training aircraft. Altho the Saudi Hawks is also an option, the bottom one is an Hawk from Oman. I am also going to build that one at the same time... possibly. I will be using the Retrowings/OZ Models 1/144 kit. Got this kit a little while ago, been looking forward to building it. This is my second option, but I will be going it the camo scheme, NMF doesn't appeal to me for some reason. I just noticed that there is a MiG-21 in the top of the picture... Go have him Lightning! I got this kit as part of a "job lot" on ebay with 5 other models. I put a £20 in max bid for the lot and won. So I got this classic for £3.30-ish and it was still sealed! How cool is that?! The other options I haven't shown because either I dont have the kit yet, or could find the kit. My other options are a Tornado GR.1/4 OR F.3. Then I could always do an E-3A, but the decals would be bothersome. Then I noticed literally 5 minutes ago that I could do a Hawker Hunter, which I have lots of PE/Resin for... all in 1/144 too! I just got to find the kit first.. :/ Thus far I am leaning towards the Hawk... not decided. I will decide next year Kind Regards, Dazz
