  1. Quick question, I am currently building the Airfix 1/24 Hurricane, havent built a plane in years, looking at references of the instrument panel I have seen various bezels painted in different colours, is there any reason for this, to be honest I think I have bitten off a little more than I can chew! Any help will be apreciated. Stuart
  2. Hello all, I am currently building the Airfix Hurricane and having real problems finding details of the engine, looking on google I find plenty of pics, but many lack detail of how things are connected etc, one eg would be the magneto where is it attached? I know its connected by a hose to the plug bar! But surely it would be atached somewhere else, any help would be appreciated.
  3. Thank you Edgar, yours is a name I have read of many times with the words thank you associated with it! Yes it is 1/32 scale, next to the compass I see fuel cock levers, I take it they should be there, eduard show just the compass housing there, also on I think the starboard wall to the left of the oxygen bottle is an item with the word danger on it, I have seen it on photos but its not mentioned in the old airfix book, perhaps it came in later, the ring pull thing I mentioned is not the seat adjuster, I think that looks more like a hand break, but I have seen it in pictures of it in mkv's etc, your references on these posts have realy helped pring this project alive for me so once again to you and all those who have taken the time to share their thoughts on these pagesl a huge thank you!
  4. Hope someone can help, I posted this in the Spitfire question's but no luck with an answer Ok, new to aircraft modeling so if this has been discussed sorry, I am building the revell mk2a spitfire and using eduards photoetch, so here is my stupid questions, does the mk2 have the lever at the left of the seat, I think it works the radiator, also would it have the height and airspeed computor On the starboard side, next on the ip next to the compass what control is there, as eduard show nothing after replacing with photoetch, now the question that will prove I know nothing about aircraft, whats that coke ring pull thing by the seat? Any help would be realy appreciated, thank you.

  16. Hi all this is Killer Kits Curse of the Werewolf by Mike Hill, first put out in 99 by Mike himself under his company Shapeshifters, Creatures Unlimited soon picked it up, they held the licence at that time, eventually the kit was produced by Killer Kits here in the UK and is still in production, my kit arrived with no remedial work necessary, infact the kit was already primed, just the fun bit of building and painting to do, I painted in my usual mixture of oils and acrylics, I added sweat to his brow and a single tear to his right eye using a clear varnish, unfortunately in photos they look like boils, but to they naked eye they look like beads of sweat, that's my story and I'm keeping to it, so here goes, This is my first ready for inspection!!! 17. Dave the basic kit is what you see on the miniart site, Photos below I used it as a basis for mine, I am trying to recreate the box artwork, the general fit was to be honest a nightmare, but eventually things started to fit, I shaved off the moustache as he looked like a mexican and have started to add detail etc to the armour, value for money is good quality is poor, but with a bit of work hopefully I will have something I can display, please dont forget I am new to this scale, so I can only go on what I know, I normaly paint much larger pieces like the one below. Regards Stuart Tanis-UK
  18. Thank's Dave, I'm Stuart, Alina is at Miniart, the sword I bent by just running my fingers across it slowly adding more pressure, I done the same with the scabbards it worked well but I then made new scabbards as I wanted to create the box art more realisticaly, glad you like what I am doing with the kit. Stuart
  19. Just recived this reply from Miniart regarding the kit, Even with all it's problems, mine is building into a figure that I will be more than happy to display. Early day's yet but it's coming Recieved today from Miniart 14 /3 /12 Dear Stuart, thank you for the interest to our models and for your email. The illustrator is Igor Dzis. As you probably know we have stopped the development of this series for a while. Because of complications with sculptor. And it's quite difficult to find a sculptor for 1/16 scale. Because sculptor have to improve some special skills for such kind of work. For our new sculptor Samurai kit was the first experience in sculpting for the further mould production. We know that there are some problems and inaccuracies. The sculpting and illustration work were developing in the same time and the illustration is more accuracy. But we had to launch this kit. In future we are going to make deeper historical research, and improve the historical accuracy and quality of further kits. Upcoming releases are 16017 IMPERIAL GUARD FRENCH GRENADIER NAPOLEONIC WARS, 16018 GUARD DUTCH GRENADIER NAPOLEONIC WARS, 16029 GLADIATOR. And all the improvements will be seen in this kits. Once again thank you for your email and questions. Have a nice day! Best regards, Alina
  20. Such a shame, she has come out very well, I enjoy working with vinyl, I always use a hairdryer to warm the vinyl and shape it to fit, heat etc warps the vinyl badly over time, so filling is neccesary, I use a two part expanding foam, keep working on these kits they are great fun.
  21. Sorry for not getting back sooner Jim, brush painted
  22. I can only agree with what's been said already regarding the kit, to be honest I was very disappointed, the artwork is great but the kit itself was a real let down, the sculptor seems to have mixed and matched, late armour early straight Katana, most probably Korean, helmet without any family emblem, a very simplified armour, an overly difficult Obi and then went wild on the decoration on the scabbard's, I have corrected the most obvious omissions on mine and tried to make it look more like the box art, as soon as I can get a photo I will post here if you don't mind.
