  1. I use an unconventional method that always works for me: https://jonbryon.com/2016/03/15/decals/ I can get decals to conform to some pretty serious surface detail using this method. Jon
  2. Given past Tarangus kits, now combined with a low pound, I dread to think what the price will be... Jon
  3. Thanks General! AMK seem to be the new standard for model aircraft. I loved your MiG-31 in AMW. Got mine as payment for the Tornado (yours done yet?) this week - I'll get to it once I've done 4 MiG-21s, a MiG-23 and a MiG-29 Jon
  4. I'd have thought a 1/48 Swift was a possibility, but there don't seem to be any rumours of this. I'd love one Jon
  5. Thanks everyone! The photos flatter - the Czech one should be on display at AMK's stand at Telford, so you will be able to see for yourself Cheers Jon
  6. Hi All, Here are a couple of AMK 1/48 Delfins. The Soviet one was built for myself and has added seat belts, Quickboost resin intakes and pitots and static wick dischargers made from Albion Alloys brass tubing. The Czech(oslovakian?) one was built as a commission for AMK and is straight from the box. Both finished with Mr Color paints (mainly 8 Silver) oversprayed with Pollyscale acrylic Semi-Gloss. A more complete build article can be found at https://jonbryon.com/amk-148-aero-l-29-delfin-maya/. Comments welcome Thanks for looking Jon
  7. Brilliant news I've got the Kinetic F-21, but I'd love to add an accurate AMK C7 to my stash. Cheers Jon
  8. Astra Decals also did a sheet for F-15C/Es at Lakenheath in 1/48: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/191035-astra-decals-asd-4801-usafe-f-15c-e-lakenheath FWIW, scalemates.com is a good starting place for looking for this kind of thing. It's not complete by any means, but it is getting there. Jon
  9. A regular Etendard would see me interested; for me the Super ship has already sailed. Jon
  10. I wonder if that set corrects the shape problems, or simply makes the kit intakes seamless? Anyone know? Jon
  11. Mine just arrived in the UK. Nice casting. Mine is slightly asymmetrical about the longitudinal axis, but it should shape up during attachment and subsequent sanding. Jon
  12. I really look forward to reading the article. Looks beautiful. Jon
  13. The final finish is Ammo's Satin Varnish. Thanks Jon
  14. Well I finished mine: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235000303-revell-148-tornado-ids-as-a-gr1b/#entry2317101 and http://jonbryon.com/tornadogr1b/ When's yours coming general Jon
  15. Hi all, Here is my latest creation, built for a friend who was a navigator with 12 Squadron during the mid 1990s. I've got a draft write up here which I'll change at some point, but as you can see, I was not enamoured with this kit. Additions are Aires seats, Eduard photo-etch interior, Xtraparts resin pylons and Xtradecals main markings and stencils (which have terrible instructions). Paint is Mr Color. The pitot tube was replaced with Albion Alloys tubing and the bombs are from the Airfix Buccaneer kit. Six months of hard work, but here is the end product: Comments welcome Jon
  16. Hello again, another colour question I'm afraid: on a grey/green Tornado what colour should the recesses under the wing that the flaps retract into be? Are they a single colour or do they continue the camouflage pattern? And for that matter, what colour should the undersides of the slats be (the bit that's only exposed when they are deployed)? Many thanks! Jon
  17. Thank you! That's a colour I'd never have guessed... Cheers Jon
  18. I'm sorry to barge into this thread with yet another question, but it's been such a good source of knowledge I can't help myself And I hope the good general has time someday to finish his model! What colour should the tailhook be on a green/grey Tornado? I can't find any good images and I'm not sure if it should be in the camouflage colour or steel. Thanks for any help Jon
  19. I'm putting four 1000lb bombs from the Airfix Bucc on the Revell Tornado I'm building (a GR.1B from 1995/6). What modifications did you make to the 1000lb bombs? I was hoping I could just get away with using them unmodified Jon
