  1. You may find this useful... Cherry Paints Bus Colours I've only used their Railway Paints, which seem very close to the shade samples I've seen - plus they also sell 50ml Tins of full gloss, as well as their standard eggshell.
  2. Fantastic! Spence, Graham at Relish Models owes you a as I've just ordered the F-5F version from him after seeing this...
  3. I've been thinking about this... I've just been up into my loft investment storage facility and re-discovered two Sauber C9s (one Hasegawa kerbside and a Tamiya full detail), a Jaguar XJR-8LM (Hasegawa kerbside) and an XJR-9LM (Tamiya full detail). Yes, I'd forgotten I had 4 - I remembered the Tamiyas but not the Hasegawas. The cunning plan is to practice on the kerbside C9 and XJR-8, then build one full detail kit (or both) for the GB - so count me in! The timescale means I should finally have a decent digital camera to work with as well - after all, there's only 20 months to go...
  4. Before using PVA and lead shot, you may wish to look at this... Link 1 and this... Link 2 Leave plenty of room for expansion!
  5. Agreed, they're Roundel Blue and Golden Yellow - - however, I've just looked at the pictures on the Hannants Website and they're definitely shown as Blue & Yellow checks there. Looks like a production error?
  6. Aha! Just a trick of the light, then - thanks, I see what what you mean
  7. Interesting - all in FAA Dark Slate Grey / Extra Dark Sea Grey / Sky (of various shades and ages) - but the closest airframe doesn't have clipped wings...? Can anyone shed more light on this
  8. Very nice indeed, always fancied doing this myself...
  9. It was the June 2005 issue, article was by Paul Lucas. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy - I have May & July, but not June. I only realised because there's a follow-up letter in July.
  10. I'd love to show everyone what I've got (oo-er!) - but I dont have a digicam, so you'll have to use your imagination... Stereo is now Musical Fidelity CD/Amp plus Tannoy loudspeakers - TV/DVD is merely a Philips 26-in HD-ready plus DVD / VCR Twinbox. I did build my own PC though
  11. I still don't own a digital camera. Or have a proper photography area or backdrop. However, I found these today when rooting through some old files, so I thought I'd share them. Airfix 1:48 Spitfire F.22 603 (City of Edinburgh) Sqn, Turnhouse, 1951. Built almost straight from the box. I added Reheat dials and harness, drilled out the spade grip on the control column and added a throttle box and undercarriage control from my spares box. I also dropped the elevators and bulged the tyres slightly. Transfers are from the kit, except for fuselage roundels (from Model Art) and wing roundels and fin flashes (from Aeromaster). The missing door has since been found and reunited with the cockpit. Hasegawa 1:48 Sea Hurricane Mk.IIc 825 NAS, HMS Vindex, 1944. Home made conversion from Hasegawa Hurricane II. Falcon canopy, decals from spares box. I can't remember where the rockets came from - probably the Airfix Spitfire 22/24. Tamiya 1:48 Supermarine Seafire Mk.Ib 801 NAS, HMS Furious, 1943. Another homebuilt conversion from the Tamiya Spitfire Mk Vb. There's a Roy (Cooper Details) Sutherland prop, exhausts and cannon stubs, markings from spares. Please forgive the red crowbar, I'll repaint it one day. Tamiya 1:48 Grumman Wildcat Mk.V Another simple homemade conversion from the Tamiya F4F-4 kit - outer guns deleted, panels filled and rivets individually drilled out with a tiny, tiny drillbit . Markings from the spare box, again... And this is where they were built - I've gone upmarket since, I've got floorstanding speakers, an LCD telly and a proper desk now! That's all, who knows what I'll unearth later...
  12. 1986 OMG, I was there and remember it as if it were...well, a couple of years ago! Photographed this as well, forgive the cut-off and poor quality scans - the original slides are in the loft somewhere... IIRC, I took this at the same show...
  13. Check your PMs, old boy...
  14. Let me guess - no belts? BTW does the info from the site say it has belts, or does it say it has items such as belts...
  15. I'd buy the 611 sheet - my first ever 1:48 Spitfire build was a 611 Sqn Mk IXc, and I'd like to do it again in the larger scale...
