1/32 Profil24 SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.3 Build

If you have the ability to do a 2 seater then I’d go for that for something truly unique although you’d have to sort out additional stencils for it. But you may prefer a straight build ? I think it’s a bit too pricey for my taste so I’ll wait for the Revell one!! 🤣 -

Pity but I understand the position. All being well you’ll pick it up later in the year - or buy the Revell kit instead 🤣 ! -

Thank you Mike, I'll PM you immediately! Simon

Hi Mike, I downloaded a set from Scalemates and it was the 64D set. I’ll look again but I have an idea that’s the only set Cheers Simon

I picked up the JGSDF boxing of this kit up at last weekends Bolton show. I’d like to build it as an Army Air Corps machine. I can’t download a copy of the instructions for the Takom boxing of the AH1 but I’m comparing the instructions with those for the standard AH-64D boxing and the only thing missing is the R sprue which includes all the folded rotor options so not a worry. Id be interested to know how the AH1 instructions compare with the AH-64D set and also the decal differences? I have the generic sheet of course but can’t imagine the AH1 sheet contains much ? Roundels, Army titles and serial numbers but it would be very useful if someone could send me a scan of the decal sheet and instructions please? Many thanks Simon

How were you able to order it? I couldn’t find a website! I see Hannants are stocking some decals but that’s it!

Wow, I am very impressed! I decided not to try to do 3D printing simply because I wouldn't do it often enough so I'd forget how to do things and I have no experience of CAD and that sort of thing. I'd say it was a generational thing and I have no desire to learn but I'm glad to read that you have resin casting sorted out so the future sounds bright! Personally I wouldn't worry about a green tint in the resin and just spray it with one of the clear paints - I'm old school to! -

Great stuff! The difficult bit is the clear stuff obviously but if you can crack that then you're on your way! I remember Ali McLean of Alleycat and Aerocraft and Alex after he took over AlleyCat saying that the big issue is producing bubble free, thin clear resin castings so I know its not easy but can it be done using 3D printing now? That is a black art to me! You could even do that T-bird conversion as a stand alone 2 seat nose, much like the 1/32 Lancasters ? -

This is very interesting! What's the story? It looks like a good conversion, my only question is about the step in the fuselage side between the side and the central glazing. I know that the Jag rear cockpit has a blast shield so does the glazing fit over that frame with inset panels for the front cockpit windscreen? Is this your conversion or one you've acquired? It looks great though, the only sad thing is the cost of the single seat kit. But I suspect that you will end up with 2 excellent Jags ! -

Well Kits World did do an enlarged set of their Buccaneer decals at the request of those who had an Icelandic Fine Arts Buccaneer S.2. Cost about £35 I think and I think only around 25 Buccs were manufactured. Kits World do Jag decals in 1/48 but I'm a member of the new IPMS JaguHar SIG (you should join if your IPMS !) and our research suggests that there may be size errors with some of those markings however there might be more demand for aftermarket than you imagine? But Grey/Green wrap around or Grey/Green/LAG is the way a Jag should really look IMHO !! -

Okay, so they’ve gone the ‘minimalist’ decal route. Personally I prefer the original grey/green finish from the 70’s-80’s. Someone like Kits World might do those markings but if you’re okay with the kit stuff then that’s fine of course.
