Hi,just moving a few things about, thought i,d post this missile for your intrest,it was a nice esy little kit to make, hardest bit again was painting.Heres some history on what it is.......

KS-1 Komet[krm-1 nato designation AS-1]

Its a wind missile short range air to surface missile mainly for anti shipping. Usually carried on the Tupolev TU-4K 'Bull' and the Tupolev TU-16 'Badger' Developed in 1947 it lineage can be traced back to the V1's. There was a ground launch missile version called the 'Samlet' as well. Basically they were a scaled down MIG-15 with the cockpit and undercarriage removed. It was propelled by a 500K turbo jet engine, reverse engineered from the Rolls Royce Derwent Engine. The AS1 entered service in 1955 as an under wing missile. They were replaced by the AS-5 'Kelt; which was deployed in 1966 and the KS-1 was removed from service in 1969.

It was operated by Soviet Union, Egypt, Indonesia and North Korea.

KS-1 Komet for the Army

FKR-1 KS7 with high explosive chemical nuclear warhead for the Navy

Ship bourne 'Strela' (KSS) for coastal defence

'Sopka' (S-2) for Soviet Air Defence

Also the KRM-1 was after decomissioning widely used as an air target drawn up until the end of the 80's

evening all, thanks for the feedback,so emosbody does read them then?. Ive got an apology to make,i said in my sat rant about lack of space and missile articles in magazines, well i went through some back issues,to have a look at what has been done, and its funny you should post on this today as ,ive just found an article i missed first time round, about this very subject, granted it was tagged with another subject, the rf-8 crusader, but its an article about building the rf-8 crusader, and this vry missile,on a scratch built launch trailer,in the context of the cuban missile crisis,as this was based on cuba already,so would of attacked the american fleet, should things have not turned out the way they did.

Anyway it builds a launching trailer, and the missile with a JATO rocket, looks very nice,so might have a go at this,

The article is in the november issue 2012,on page 896,entitled one minute to midnight,by tony grand.

IF you cannot get hold of it,

i could scan and send it to anyone who lets me know, possibly

cheers Don
