1/48 - McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II by UMa Model - released
Dudikoff replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Looking forward to a review with the sprue shots. I do have a Hasegawa AV-8B in the stash, but this looks like a much nicer kit to build (plus, with no aftermarket needed), errors notwithstanding. -
Reskit has released adapter pylons for Storm Shadows on Su-24, both in 1:72 and 1:48 (and they have Storm Shadow missiles, as well).
-
Not an expert, but the kit photo shows a nozzle in a fully open state, while the photo shows a nozzle in closed state, so maybe not the best choice of the comparison photo. Though, if I'm correct that this shows an open P&W engine nozzle, it still looks weirdly off:

Edit: Wasn't aware that 21st FS operates Taiwanese owned F-16 planes, so hence why the brake chute. Interesting.

1/48 - McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II by UMa Model - released

I think it's mostly shadows making them look out of whack on this particular photo. -
So glad I had skipped on the KH offering due to the poor cockpit details (there were no raised detail side panels, just plain PE parts) and seemingly oversized leading edge slats which made it look weird, IMHO. Airfix really did a good job on this one regarding the details provided. Thanks for the review.

1/48th - Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A by Airfix - Q1 2025
Dudikoff replied to At Sea's topic in The Rumourmonger
Awesome. Glad I held off on the KH kit or the old Airfix one. -
True, but it would be nice if they also offered a more realistic VA/VMA squadron decal option, rather then VF and USAF (including the F-117 one) options only.

Angled deck Midway would have made a cool 1:350 model as well, due to it's somewhat smaller size. Hope they make it at some point.

1/48 - Sikorsky UH-60/MH-60 Black Hawk by ICM - 2024

I'd wait for the actual plastic parts since their AH-1G and OV-10 kits in 1:48 both do have positive rivets. -
Thanks for the preview. MBK is selling it for 188 EUR, while it's 109 USD on LM? That's quite a price bump in the EU.
-
It seems to be released? Wonder what comes extra with the 'Deluxe Edition'? https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=FH-5001S
-
I meant, I have a non-VLS one so I could could justify getting a Flyhawk VLS one given a decent price.
-
That's a new tool, right? I gave up waiting for Trumpeter to do one so I bought a Revell repack of the DML kit. I guess that's technically a non-VLS one so I could justify getting this one (and probably never getting around to building it).
-
I would just note that there were two MiG-29Ks. There was the Soviet 9.31 which was developed alongside Su-33, it was a single-seater and it's what Trumpeter modelled in their MiG-29K 1/32 kit. The HB model is a Russian 9.41 which has a new canopy which was raised to provide better rear-view, but it uses the same two-seater canopy whether the variant is a single or double-seater. Personally, I dislike the looks of the newer one so just wanted to clear that out in case someone is looking for the earlier Soviet type.
-
Thanks. Not much there for me; it's nice to see an alternative to Dragon Scharnhorst (though, Trumpy would have to be noticeably cheaper, too). Was there a link with armor novelties somewhere?
-
Could be. Or it went defunct (since they announced an M4 Shilka, but never released it) and somebody bought it and rebranded it. The point I was trying to make is that it's not a new tool.

Pretty sure this is not a new tool, but sourced from Hong Models which issued this kit. IIRC, somebody did a comparison back then which showed it's detail is better and more accurate than Meng, but it's quite over-engineered and thus requires more work to put together.

1/48 - Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-35 " Fulcrum-F" by HobbyBoss - released
Dudikoff replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
It would make sense if the moulds are modular and they can just stack on different mould parts for the wings. Time will tell. -
Are those ZSU-23s perhaps those Hong Models ones? IIRC, they were more accurate in detail than Meng ones, but rather over-engineered, as well.

Nice to see those KH kits resurrected. Hope their Mi-28 in 1:48 comes back to life, as well.

1/48 - Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29K " Fulcrum-D" by HobbyBoss - released
Dudikoff replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Hmm, my reply was based on Homebee's title specifically mentioning 9.31, like so: "Expected in late October in China, Hobby Boss is to release a 1/48th Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29K Izdeliye 9.31 " Fulcrum-D" kit - ref. 81786". Though, I guess the photo does make it look like the later Russian development one with a protruding common single/dual seat canopy (which IMHO is ugly and I have no interest of) and the HB page doesn't mention 9.31 so I guess you're right. All apologies. -

The 1/32 variant from Trumpeter has been available for like 15 years? And it has the wing fold. -

Oh, yes! I so wanted to have the 9.31 (together with other Soviet Union/Cold War could have beens), but since I already have the 1/32 9.15, I'd never find the space and time for another MiG-29 in 1/32. This solves the problem for me! I guess they'll release the 9.15 in 1/48 as well so I might be tempted to get rid of the 1/32 kit and go for the more space friendly one. -

Did they perhaps mention a release of a USN variant?
