  1. I always thought the props turned anticlockwise, which was why they always turned to port (left) as the centripetal forced helped with roll rate!
  2. To do that would you need an inner and outer cast? Okay for a solid piece I expect!
  3. http://www.blog.jauntycamera.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/14-B17-nose-art-1783.jpg http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/attachments/2/8/8/4/3/0/a3439179-76-PW-RC%20B-17%20Nose%20Art-1.jpg http://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/usa/aircrafts-2-3/b-17/b-17g-nose-art-flak-eater-393-bg/ Not sure of the colours on the B&W picture (My favourite) - sorry but that would be fairly simple to do ? Just realised number two is a model LOL
  4. On the subject of balsa being too soft when vac-forming, I saw somewhere on this forum where the craftsman, for that is what you guys are, used a Cryo (?) coat over the balsa which when set can be sanded to leave a hard smooth finish. Now I know nothing as I've not built a model for over 30 years so please don't quote me - I think it was very obsessed member - Fozzy in "Total Scratch build of the front end of a B17G!" where I saw that snippet.
  5. Sorry but I had another thought! The photographs show off the workmanship, better even than looking closely at the detail. How about some 'professionally' lit and set photographs that really do justice to the detail (Not that yours do not) then have them set beside the finished article. Whatever you do decide it is a fantastic piece of work.
  6. Okay, I have to ask where did you find a 4 foot long plastic head dressmaking pin! Fantastic skills.
  7. Julian - very sorry to hear your sad news, my thoughts with the family and friends of everybody battling for their health.
  8. No expert myself but I believe you need to apply the hairspray / salt AFTER the base colour and BEFORE the top colour so you can chip / remove the top coat to reveal the underlying colour(s). Better suited (I think) to vehicles than YOUR superb work, which so far as I am concerned needs no embellishment (Imagine its factory fresh)
  9. Bugger that was on my build list - now crossed off 'cause I will NEVER match that - Great job
  10. Nooooo - I had a life, now having spent all day catching up on your brilliant project , I cannot wait to see the next instalment. Really, really sorry to hear about your fall , glad to see the model is not too damaged and that you did manage to save your face! (apt given todays date!) I must disagree with your 'after market' hate though . As an almost complete novice I have to start somewhere
