Mike
Leaves / Fern Pre-Painted Photo Etch 1:35 Eduard This etched fret of photo-etched brass contains several sprays of ferns in six clumps of three leaves, one of two, and six single leaves, all of which is painted on both sides. The topside is painted in a realistic shade of green, with slight variation in tone throughout, and the underside is a lighter shade, with a raised central vein running down the centre. To my eye the coloring is spot on, from my days ploughing through the countryside on my mountain bikes. The attachment points, the PE equivalent of sprue gates, are incredibly fine, so shouldn't show up once nipped close to the tips of the leaves. There are paper equivalents available, but nothing stays where it is put like PE, so these leaves should work well in your diorama or base setting. Conclusion Another tool for the diorama maker from Eduard's expanding range of sundries in photo-etch metal. The painting is very realistic, and the variety of poses of the leaves look organic, and once bent to shape, should look realistic. Obi-Jiff Kenobi
Thanks for the review, Mike. They look great. I can see me getting some of those for a Tamiya dinosaur or two.
