Need plans, info of HP Heyford

I need help (My wife has been saying that I am beyond help but that's just her opinion).

I intend to make a 1/32 scale Heyford.

I have plans for flying models of the beastie, but they are always simplified as flying is their main consideration.

I need the details on the ribs and longerons for the fuselage, wings and tail. I want to make this model as close as possible to the real one.

I have the matchbox 1/72 kit of it but I really do not want to slice it up like a salami to get the contours of the fuselage and airfoil. I wonder how accurate the 1/72 scale model is in the first place.

Can any of you direct me to a good source of decent plans and info?

Thanks,

Ssculptor

Hi Ssculptor,

Just to show that you are not alone, here's my 1/32 scratchbuilt Heyford which I built some years ago.

I used the following references in building mine:-

Aeroplane Monthly, Nov, Dec, 1992, Jan, Feb, 1996

Scale models, Oct, 1980

Airfix Magazine, May, 1977

MAP plan No. 2677

Good luck with your project. PM me if you need any help.

Regards,

Glenn
