PatG Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 For my current project I have all the correct paints I need but some are enamels and some are acrylics, so can they be safely used on the same subject or should I stick to all enamels or all acrylics? I plan to use the W&N Galeria acrylic varnishes but could possibly opt for the Humbrol 'cote enamel ones if the acrylic ones don't work out too well. Pat.

Yes but wait for the enamels to gas off (24hrs) before covering with another type. To add Ive used all three types of paint on the same model. Nothing happens provided you give each type time to gas off and cure. I have also added a clear coat to help with any issues sometime’s. As with anything test it on scrap to make sure first. PLC1966 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 As Corsairfoxfouruncle says, you can use both together fine. All of my models will have both Acrylics and Enamel paints on them without fail. 1 1
