Drakendk Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Hello fellow modellers. This build has been on my whishlist for around 15 years. The subject is the Gulfstream SMA-3 from the Royal Danish Air Force in 1/72 scale. Five years back i tryed my luck with the Broplan kit - and failed. I got the RVHP resin kit of the Gulfstream IV and converted it to a SMA-3. I shortened the fuselarge by 1,2 cm. and got the Spey engines from Shapeways. The decals are from Stoppel Decals (RIP), and i also did little scratch building and rescribing. It was not an easy build. Warped parts, rough surfaces and air bubbles. Despite the challenges, I’m glad that i can finally ad this big bird to my RDAF collection. Thanks for watching 🙂 30 2
cpoud117 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Great work, it looks very smart in that grey livery. 1
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Lovely work there, it is great to see these military bizjets being built in model form. 1
TheyJammedKenny! Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Try, and try again--that's the spirit. That's really incredible work on your part! I sure wish A-Model would give us the earlier, Spey-powered versions of the Gulfstream, which I find more attractive. 1
gaputz Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Very nice work. I know resin kits can be challenging but you tamed this one to produce a very nice model. Besides the model, which is fantastic, I really like your display base. Top notch. Greg 1

And i totally agree, it would be nice with a decent styrene model of the earlier Gulfstreams 🙂 1
