dcrfan
Reini78 has a build thread going on a Tamiya 1/48th Sherman. This photo got me thinking (used with Reini78 permission) DSC_0010 by grimreaper110, on Flickr You could use the hull and suspension to build a Canadian Madill highline logger as a 'swords to plowshares' build. Madill used Sherman, Ram and later M48 chassis and suspensions as mobility platforms for their logging machinery. DSCN1226 by tankienz, on Flickr Previously I had considered building it in 1/35th but it would have been a very large model but 1/48th would be much more manageable. Madill used both Sherman VVSS and HVSS suspension types, both are available in 1/48 from Tamiya. I note there has been previous brief discussion on Madill at https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235042246-rmasg-sherman-v-fox/page/2/&tab=comments#comment-3118689 Edited February 9, 2020 by dcrfan correct layout
Bullbasket
Good luck with the project. I was in contact a few years ago with Greg Buechler, and he showed me some photos of the Madill equipment that he had built. Truly amazing. John.
Kingsman
I was also about to say to speak to Greg Buechler. He seems to be something of an expert on Madill, as well as a certified Shermaholic. Epic project idea, though. Consequences for sanity uncertain..........
