Alan P
Never seen this before. Great stuff! Looks like it's from a Snottie training film. Edited May 29, 2015 by Brokenedge
Jockster
I actually enjoyed that until the golf! I wonder if any of those film stars are here on BM! Good post anyway!
Jockster
Just watched 'Sea of Fire', linked at the end of your clip. Very chilling! I cannot remember the last time I cried as a grown man but I have now!
JosephLalor
Reminds me of when 'Warship' was required viewing for me back in the '70s. I can remember its signature tune even now. I think the emergency that arises towards the end might have been the St Kitts ferry disaster. HMS Sirius rescued 100 people. ShipbuilderMN
That was a very dramatic and moving account of the loss of the Coventry. I was standing by a new oil tanker in the shipyard when Coventry was completed, and saw quite a lot of her every day during the last few weeks of building. I was fortunate that my own ship (Merchant Navy), never saw any enemy action in the Falklands at all. But after we came back, I felt quite guilty about coming back unscathed. All the damage we received was from the weather. Bob
Fatboydim
I saw HMS Sirius launched at Portsmouth Dockyard. My Father was a Dockyard Driller and took me to see the launch. Thank you for posting.
