  1. About the aircraft: MiG-21R - representative of the third generation of MiG-21 aircraft. 36 aircrafts were used in Poland. About the copy: MiG-21R with the side number 1507 - one of MiG-21Rs stationed at the 32nd Tactical Reconnaissance Air Regiment at Sochaczew. During second major overhaul at Dęblin it was painted on "ashy" livery using very matt and... impermanent paint. Presented with "R" pod (radio-electronic reconnaissance). About the model: The base was Eduard's kit "MiG-21MF Interceptor" in 1/72 scale. Pod and wingtips from KP kit. The cocpit from Eduard's kit "MiG-21PFM. Own decals, Bilmodel paints. Pair with MiG-21MF-75 - older brother presented HERE
  2. Good morning everyone… My first RFI for the year. I present to you my 1/72 Eduard MiG-21R based on the MF kit. The Recon pod is Eduard Brassin resin, the wingtip SPO-3 antenna’s are scratch built. This was built in the MiG-21R single type group build. Bort #2111 was received from the factory in the USSR in 1972 and served until retirement. She was one of 36 R-types used by the Polish Air Force. Pictured alongside my 2nd RFI an EA-18G Growler from the Hornet STGB. Yes they're the same scale. Please feel free to visit my build thread. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235105935-polish-mig-21r/ Dennis
  3. Hi all, been cracking at this whilst my account was being approved. I’m building the Cuban 111 Livery of this Soviet Icon.
  4. I am continuing the MIG-21 edition around the world. The last model made is the MIG-21R of the Egyptian Air Force. The model is made by Condor, known to everyone for all its shortcomings. I am pleased with what has been achieved and another MIG-21 is on display. Here's the picture.
  5. Another Mig-21R. This will be Eduard's 1/48 Weekend Edition. No etch, but kit does include 'superfabric' seatbelts. Also using BarracudaCast replacement radome, Eduard masks. Like Dave_R I will also be doing the Cuban AF scheme. It was the scheme that drove me to this kit, More and more I am finding that it is the scheme that attracts my attention and is the my major driver in building a kit as opposed to the actual aircraft itself..
  6. I have started working on Eduard's 1/48 MiG-21R, and had a question about the writeup on version A. It mentions that chaff/flare dispensers could be carried by the MiG-21R, but were not visible in photographs. The only MiG-21 version I have seen with external chaff/flare dispensers is the MiG-21-93. I doubt the Soviets would've scabbed on such dispensers on their MiG-21Rs. Does anybody know how they were carried? I think they are talking about the dispensers in the bottom rear of some of the recce pods, is that the case? Larry EDIT: I just went through the entire instructions and saw the dispensers and where they are located. Now to figure out if I want to use the type recce pod they suggest, or try a different one.
