  1. Thank you Tail-Dragon. It was suggested on another forum that it go to the IWM which I'd thought of as well. If I could get it there undamaged I would do it.
  2. Thanks Ed, I had seen that before and thought they did a superb job. Very accurately modeled IMPO from all the research I did.
  3. Thanks very much. No, unfortunately the plastic Hurricane build has been in a state of limbo for a long time as I moved twice since 2015 and all my hobby materials are still in storage.
  4. Thanks Mark, appreciate your kind comments. Yes, a 3D printer could make the catapult build far less manual, especially in making the catapult arm trusses. I'm interested in seeing your results as your build comes together.
  5. Just was informed the photo links needed updating again, so all pics on page 1 have been restored. 😎
  6. Finally some progress to report! As the model will depict the Hurricat in ready to launch config, I've cut out the flaps and had to fill in the void between upper and lower wing halves in order to fit brass etch flaps in the extended position. Never worked with brass before - fingers crossed!.......
  7. Hi Graham - my kit is the Finnish AF Mk.I and the engine cowling is Sprue D. Would this be the correct cowling then?
  8. Thanks for that Graham. My Hasegawa kit is #00927. Does it have the same issue you describe?
  9. Thanks Dave and bigh. Well the kit build is finally underway using a 1/72 Hasegawa Hurricane MkI and a wealth of aftermarket accessories including PJ Prod pilot figure, QB DeHavilland prop and exhaust stubs, and Part Hurricane MkI etched brass detail. As the fuselage fabric grooves are a bit overstated I've filled them with putty and drilled the holes for the rear catapult spools. The model once in place on the catapult will be depicting Tim at the controls moments before launch, therefore I'll be cutting the flaps from the lower wing half in order to install etched brass flaps set to takeoff position. Lots to do so better get on with it!!
  10. Oh my, has it really been two years since I last posted here? My sincere apologies to Tim / cotteswold and the Battle of the Atlantic group build team for essentially vanishing two years ago due to a bad turn on the family side of life. The Hurricat/CAM ship model sits about 5 feet from my PC and has been a constant reminder that the job is not done until I finish Tim's Hurricat, LU-V. Now that I'm ready to enjoy modeling again it's #1 on my list and I plan to get started this coming weekend. Regards to all and thanks for the kind words on my project. Todd
