  1. This is brilliant. And you aren't milking it - you are providing fascination for others. I for one would love to see it finished! Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am hoping my comment might provide the impetus to kick(re-)start it!
  2. Long gap since the last post, but did you know you could get aftermarket wheels for it now? Over twice the price you paid for the kit, but they look very nice! https://store.themodelbunker.com/en/home/73-bentley-blower-45-litres-spoked-wheel-rim-only-set-of-5-wheels.html
  3. I have just had the same experience - ordered in April, sent two polite reminders in May, and I have just got fed up with waiting and got a PayPal refund. The way I found this thread was via a Google search to see if others had had the same problems, and it looks as if they have. It is sad, because his stuff looks great
  4. Yes, the one with the red stripes in particular would look pretty amazing. But €323...
  5. I am intrigued by what you mean by 'Roland' - from the context it reads as if you mean the kit manufacturer rather than the aircraft manufacturer, but I have never heard of Roland kits - am I missing something?
  6. Tempted to buy all seven of the German ones that MBK have in stock, but that would cost €1421 and I'd kinda like to stay married...
  7. Exactly the same - every word! I literally got back into modelling after a 40-year gap 3 months after they stopped - what timing. I guess the cause was the same in both cases - I was attracted to start modelling again by the lockdown and they were put out of business, at least in part, by Covid. And now I would love to have all their German kits (I only make German and A-H ones, because try as I might I can't get worked up about PC-10). But with my budget and supply issues what they are I would be likely to end up with about 4 of them, which isn't really worth bothering with. So for now I will stick with 1/48, maybe buy one or two of them if I can afford it, and hope that they come back big time. Doesn't seem too likely though!
  8. Modellbau-König in Germany have got them in stock https://www.modellbau-koenig.de/en/Manufacturers/Wingnut-Wings
  9. Anyone know if Pheon decals are still going? The last I read, Rowan was ill, and there don't seem to be any recent updates, which is concerning.
  10. Sorry - only just saw this! Thanks for the nice reply and pointer to Frank's!
  11. I know this is an old thread, but I'm reviving it because I have just found one and bought it. And I wanted to say what a beautiful job you've made - I hope (but to be honest doubt!) that I can make mine as nicely. I particularly like how you've done the 'engine turned' finish on the cowling, even though that's a bit that you express doubts about! It looks brilliant, and it is a lovely model of a lovely little plane. I shall use this as a build guide for mine!
  12. I used to wander round the pitlanes when I was a teenager in the 70s, and I can confirm that the new tyres had a very prominent seam in the middle. I have 3 Tamiya 1/12 F1 kits that I bought back then and haven't finished yet, and at first I was horrified by the seams - but when I checked against the real thing I was reassured. The thing I wasn't reassured about was how bad the finish was back then - both then and now I did car bodywork, and even as a 17-year-old in 1975 I could have bettered the finish on most of the F1 cars I saw. But I guess they didn't spend too much money on the bodywork, as it had a very short life expectancy!
