  1. The alternative organ pipes shown are the initial version on JT-3C fitted 707-120s with 10 tubes in the outer ring, later changed to 8. JT-4A also had 8. Pic at http://www.aussieairliners.org/b-707q/vh-ebg/vhebg.html
  2. Very nicely done and good to see one in plain natural metal finish. Graham
  3. If its this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sud-Aviation-SE-210-Caravelle-10R-PE-parts-1-144-Amodel-1480-NEW/302678802019?epid=2288020934&hash=item46790ffe63:g:OHcAAOSwnBJatWDO the picture of the sprues is common to the other two versions also for sale and dated 18/3/2018 whereas the rest of the 10R photos are dated 23/3/2108 and do include the wing fences. So hopefully the 10R does have JT8s as shown on the painting guides. Graham
  4. Braz BZ4094, bought a couple of sets recently for some Revell DC8-60s in my stash that are to be cut down to 30/40 series. I'm still trying to work out if the Conway powered 40 used the same nacelle as the JT4D on the 30, they certainly look very similar unlike those on the 707-320/420. Not sure about the short fuselage Revell DC8 but the stretch is a bit overscale, supposedly around 1/140. Graham
  5. Very nice and well done for getting this finished. Mine is currently in limbo. Having spent an inordinate amount of time cleaning up all the detail parts then I got stuck with the air scoops on the engine nacelles. The top ones really need replacing as they are the wrong shape, top and bottom benefit with opening out the intakes. The nacelles on mine came out oval. I did try sanding the props, they're not too bad now though a bit short! If you used Aeroclub's W016 props they were sold for CL44, DC7C and Stratocruiser so rather on the generic side. DC7C props are almost 14' diameter while those on the Stratocruiser are over 16'. If my maths are correct your DC7 needs 29.6mm diameter props. Graham
  6. All working fine now, placed an order for decals on Sunday 2nd, received an 'in preparation' email on the Monday, dispatched Thursday and arrived this morning. Up to the usual high quality Fdcal standards. Exchange rate is crap but that's 'our' fault! Graham
  7. I have Russell Brown's February 1996 Airline Modeller with info on converting the Airfix standard to a super. I can scan and send a copy if you PM me your email address. Graham
  8. A word of caution if anyone is still thinking of buying the 4C. The wings are the same as the 4B with pinion tanks grafted on, no span increase and I reckon the wings are the correct span for a 4B. The tanks are nicely moulded as are the wing to tank fillets. Going by the drawings in post 19 here the tanks are about 2mm too far inboard. I was hoping the 4C wings combined with the under length fuselage(less 3mm) would produce a 4 but not to be. Gone on the 'difficult, have a think about it shelf'! Graham Real Jet Airliners were LOUD!
