Best people to Buy After market goodies from?

Hi guys.

Been a while since I posted, so hope your all well.

I have decided to build a king tiger and to pimp it up with some after market goodies (wish I had known about the full interior model though before buying the dragon henshel turret kit).

I was wondering who people buy PE/resin items from.

I see lots of companys online but don't want to spend hard earned cash on sub-par or rip off shops.

A good shop is worth its weight in gold and I'm a firm believer of buying/supporting actual shops, even if they are more expensive or have less stock.

Personnel recommendations are allways a good thing, and I wont hold you to account if things have changed.

Thanks in advance for replies

Paul

Welcome to the forum, Paul.

The answer may depend to some extent upon what type and nationality of AFVs you like to build. It would also depend upon whom you ask, of course!

I could give you a long list of specialist retailers which I like and trust, but it would comprise eBay sellers and small web traders. I don't know whether very many of them run shops as well, but I don't look. If I confined myself to supporting high street businesses trading online, I would likely have to pay more and would certainly have far less choice. That's the changing retail world coupled with my budget.

As far as pricing goes, always look for sales when comparing.  Another thing to consider is buying from the source, that is the webstore that is also the brand name, or try to keep the purchase in the region it originated from.  Finally, I tend to rely only on Paypal  method of payment as I just do not trust giving out credit card info over the inter web.

Incidentally, Meng did an interesting thing with their King Tigers by boxing the interior separately from the main kit.  Wonder how well it would fit inside the Dragon?

Cheers guys.

I guess I'm a bit old fashioned with the shop thing nowadays. The internet is, for better or worse, the new high street.

Most of my modelling is WW2 based, if that helps.

Jack G, that's a very interesting kit.

I was thinking of a maintenance scenario for the KT, But I'm also wondering if I could scratch build a Cradle/frame from clear Perspex, and have the interior fully built-up besides the tank.

Think I'll have to research this option a bit.

Cheers

Paul
