I don't know if there's a thread specifically about this.

I have a small resin kit with a bit of warping.

I do know that to rectify this I need to warm it with a hairdryer, reshape and then cool in water.

I've been trying over the weekend, but it doesn't seem to be working. I think possibly I'm not heating the kit for long enough, but am scared to overheat in case it damages the resin.

Can anyone advise on how long the resin needs to be warmed for/how hot it should be?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes, the hot kettle water trick works. I run the water over the section of part that is warped. Apply pressure to bring it back to shape and then into cold water (running or sink).

You can get away with just very hot water in a bowl. Advantage of that is you can get your hands on the relevant parts to apply the corrective pressure in just the right sense. I've never used very hot water from the kettle but I would think that control of the process would be a bit hit and miss due to not being able to handle the parts so precisely.

Always ready to stand corrected though and be re educated.
