Thanos Mentzelopoulos
This build is looking great. I have one of these I want to do as a MK.Ic in a desert scheme. Your build will prove inspirational. Especially for the interior references. Thank you my friend, don't hesitate to ask if there's anything I can do for you!!!!!!!!! Thanos Mentzelopoulos
Well, this is definitely an update concerning the engines, the left half-wing and the tail of my English patient!!! Everything was done from scratch, using plastic sheet, aluminum foil and my punch'n'die!!! Here are what the tail section looks like today...
Thanos Mentzelopoulos
And this is the work done on the left wing.....the aircraft will be positioned in a restoration diorama scene, so I don't know what will happen to the rest of the left wing... The right engine in place...apart from the engine itself, the cowling itself has been improved while the cowling flaps have already been changed, they will be present in the next bunch of photos!!!
Thanos Mentzelopoulos
And this is a dry-fit of the right engine along with its cowling... Let's move on to the left engine and its cowling...both exhaust collector rings were made of telephone cable and further improved by aluminum foil!!! Still another dry-fit of the left engine and cowling.... Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!
nick
This is looking really good. I've got of these somewhere, I love beaufighters, so about once a year, I get it out of the stash - full of enthusiasm, look at it, which reminds me why I haven't started it, shake my head and put it away again. Now I've seen yours, I'm inspired to start kit bashing, so you may have broken the cycle. Nick
Thanos Mentzelopoulos
Τhank you my friend!!! The same happened to me as well, but at the end it was me holding the blade!!!!!!!!!
Thanos Mentzelopoulos
Well...just a few new things this time due to work pressure... ...starting with the new cowling flaps made of Evergreen plastic sheet and strips... In order to achieve the right dihedral between the inner and the outer parts of the wing and after many dry-fits, I decided to glue in place the upper part first...Some minor improvements were made in the inside of the oil coller air duct... And this is the oil cooler air duct itself, made from aluminum sheet and fine mess from my spares box... ...which will be inserted between the upper and the lower parts of the wing!!! And now the propeller...Only one will be used on the starboard engine. Although it is quite good in detail, it surely needed much filler on its back side... However, I decided to thin it down a bit and I made some inprovements using pen parts!!! Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!

It's already too heavy to sit on its own u/c, so a new one will be scratchbuilt when the time comes!!!
