CheapTricked
Hello, I've recently come into a few kits that use polyurethane pieces. I had never encountered these before and quickly discovered that my usual Tamiya cement (white cap and extra-thin) is ineffective. Is there any modelling glue that works well with polyurethane, or will I need to use a superglue like Gorilla brand? I've had mixed results with Gorilla glue in general. Thank you in advance, Stan
bentwaters81tfw
EMA Plastic Weld may be your best bet, but no idea if you can get it in Canada.

It's not plastic, so you need superglue of some kind, or possibly a 2 part epoxy which gives more time to position. You can also get UV cure resin glue, has a little UV torch to make the resin cure. You may wish to say what kits, just to be clear as to what the bits are. There are various types of superglue, I tend to use the generic 3g tubes, Be aware that polyurethane dust is unpleasant, wet sand or wear a dust mask. 36 minutes ago, bentwaters81tfw said: EMA Plastic Weld may be your best bet, but no idea if you can get it in Canada. AFAIK no solvent plastic cement works on resin. HTH

HTH Yes I build resin kits with Superglue, as you say, it depends on exactly what he is trying to stick.

HTH I did not realize that polyurethane and resin were the same. Other kits in which I've had resin parts had them listed as resin; this is the only kit I've had with them called polyu. The kit is Flying Machines' Fiat G.55 (https://www.scalemates.com/kits/flying-machines-fm48005-fiat-g55-i-serie-s-silurante--152826). Thank you both for the advice and recommendations. I'll look into some superglue brands available near me.
