RAF Hercules Retirement Flypast, Colchester Garrison

Great images Leigh and everyone else that posted of what was a grand final tour but nevertheless a sad and poignant occasion. Seeing brand new RAF Hercs flying overhead as a 5 year old was one of my earliest aviation memories. 56 years later they are finally retiring on and its difficult to imagine an RAF without them

Thanks for the kind words, Mark. The old girl has done us proud over the years and it is indeed a sad time. I'm sure the crews must have been quite emotional during the retirement flypast, but at least we will have another chance to see them in the flypast over Buckingham Palace tomorrow.
