Tweener Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 This photo shows a Blenheim with an unusual bump on the canopy. Any ideas what this might be? Thanks, Tweener 3
ClaudioN Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 External additional armoured glass protection for the pilot, if I understand which bump you refer to. Cheers Claudio

Cheers Claudio This does seem possible, but it's the only time in a few hundred pics that I've seen it. I even hunted down a dozen or so pics of the same Squadron and couldn't find it again. Do you know anything about this mod? Thanks, Tweener

To me at least, it looks more like the actual windscreen panel has been folded down, but I don't recall off the top of my head if that was a standard fit or not. 1
brewerjerry Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 (edited) Hi Well found my copy of the pilots notes AP 1530A april 1939 it shows that in that position is :- "direct-vision window and air deflector" " an air deflector is fitted outside the windscreen and can be raised " cheers jerry Edited November 28, 2022 by brewerjerry 3
