2nd Brigade, 6th Division at the Great Game

A few of you will know that I have been painting 28mm Frenchmen to take part is a massive re-fight of the battle of Waterloo in Glasgow in aid of Waterloo Uncovered and Veterans rehabilitation.

 

 

So here are  456 28mm figures painted and set up ready to go

 

To get an idea of the size of the game we were on the far  French left here is the rest of the table before the rest of the French set up

 

 

 there were 22, 500 figures on the table by the start of the battle and 117 wargamers were actually playing.

Sadly I got so involved in the battle  that I hadn't realised that my phone was on and so I have a long video of the inside of my jacket pocket. My team mate has loads of photos so I'll try to get some of his if anyone is interested. 

The event was a huge success and made the Sunday papers and local television. A large amount of mioney was raised as well as raising the profile of the good causes.

Apparently it's just called Napoleonic Wargaming and it is only covering the Friday and Saturday at the moment and he has let rip at our inept cavalry commanders. Might be fun.
