gengriz
Despite today's show being cancelled because of the weather, yesterday went ahead as planned, defying the incoming storm. Overall it was pretty cold but sunny and clear. I have even returned with a sun-burnt forehead! FredT Some highlights: The first arrivals land on the rather soggy and muddy beach: Causing a break in the excellent radio controlled model flying display of which the highlight for me was this superb Heinkel. and the B-17 More arrivals: then back up with the models: The bizzies look in The reds put on a full show: Only one Black Cat this time: But a lovely spitfire: The Reds return by helo after landing at Blackpool for some crowd adulation (and home in time for tea and medals) The RV8ors put on a really good show Then a JP/Strikemaster roared in: The Blades easily matched the RV8tors Yes, he really is flying backwards: and sideways: Sheesh ! Desert Tucano Bulldog: Huey. You could hear him approaching from miles away Lovely Sabre More Solos Is that tide coming in? Then one of Lancashire's finest (You can see Warton from the beach) And finally, of course, given that it is BoB weekend, the BoB Flight was the highlight - what a truly fantastic sound - 6 snarling Merlins in concert:
depressed lemur
Beautiful photos there mate. I was travelling home from Morecambe on the Saturday with the plan of visiting the show on the sunday. Flippin weather. Looks like you had a fine time for the day anyway, and I am more than a little envious that you saw the F86 up close. Thanks for sharing
Paul J
Very nice photos and lovely weather! The Heinkel in the air really looks authentic. I enjoyed seeing the Strikemaster at Shoreham a couple of weeks ago. Certainly nice to see it. Just a small point about the BoB flight. Four Merlins and a pair of Griffons. The Spits are PR19s.
