So the Christmas of 2020 was a little of a strange one, and the most of the year was no better. Constant home schooling and only essential shops being open. For most of us it was a good time to get plenty of bench time, and make out ways down the pile of kits in the stash. for me? It was a time to start fresh, go back to the basics of modelling, learn new techniques and above all come back to Britmodeller. For Christmas I asked the wife for just one thing, as the title suggests, yes a big tornado. For many years I have wanted to build a large scale tornado, and have all the

Evening all. I'm compiling information for an upcoming project where by I want to depict a Tonka on Telic (Op Telic 8 specifically, during my deployment). I've found a decent reference of ZA553/DI (previously deployed and fondly named "Dishy Intel" during the invasion of Iraq). Hey, I'm planning on building a Tornado GR.4 from the latest Revell 1/48 kit depicting ZD714. The empty fuselage pylons kind of bother me so I planned to place some Eduard Storm Shadows down there and also replace the AIM-9s from the box with their Eduard resin counterparts. The question is: Would these weapons be carried at all by this machine? From the images I've been able to find the Storm Shadows should be OK but I'm not sure about the AIM-9s. If these would be carried are Eduard's AIM-9M/L the correct version? Also, is there any resin replacement for the GR.4 cockpit? I've been able

- Hi, I'm Sebastien and I'm a Tornadoholic - Hi Sebastien. This kit is lovely, and now I have two under my belt and a dozen or so to build, I thought I might do a WIP. My point isn't to build the ultimate Tornado. I couldn't, and the one and only General Melchett is doing a brilliant job about it. I'm just here to help average modellers like me to avoid the little troubles you can have building this kit. So I'll accept all pointers, kicks in the butt, subtle and not so subtle hints and bribes Lagavulin pieces of advice you'll throw my way, and be grateful about them. Now, on with the bui

Right i've been working on this for the past few evenings. It's the Revell IDS kit from the black panther boxing, i've pinched the Gr4 bits from the otherwise crappy Airfix kit. Pretty much built as is but i jave added a few homemade aerials probably not 100% accurate but they look the part. so on with some photo's The canopy isn't affixed yet as im still deciding whether to stick some blokes inside.
