First build since I was around 15-16, Im now 57 so its been a while and things have moved on. Enjoyed it, made a few mistakes, so learnt something. Never used an airbrush before so that was a learning curve as well! Quite a few of my own add on’s so enjoyed the research as well as the build. Not the best but pleased all the same. I have the Border Junkers JU87 Stuka all ready to go now!

Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Tamiya Mosquito Mk.XVII night fighter. I built from the box, with the addition of True Details resin wheels, Master metal pitot tube, and Albion Alloys steel wire to replace the wing antennas. Painted with Gunze/Mr Hobby acrylics, pictures by Wolfgang Rabel. Both Airfix and Special Hobby have announced the release of new 1/72 Mosquito variants in 2021. Time to clear my stash in order to make room for the upcoming kits! Thank you for your interest! Best greetings from Vienna.

I need some help identifying a 29 Squadron RAF Mosquito Mk XIII particularly the serial number and aircraft code. The particular aircraft I am trying to identify was involved in the destruction of an Me110 Night Fighter some time after 2300hrs 17.09.44. in the Arnhem area. The aircraft was flown by Lieutenant D Price with Sub Lieutenant R Armitage as his AI operator who had been seconded to the RAF to learn Airbourne Interception and bring the learnings back to the Fleet Air Arm to develop their Night Fighting capability. The Me110 was their final claim and the third aircraft they destroyed (two other damaged claims had been made) making them the top scoring night fighting team in the Fleet Air Arm. I have looked at the 29 Squadron ORB both Summary and Detailed and all it tells you is that aircraft type (Mosquito XIII with Mk VIII A.I.). The 29 Squadron Combat Reports don't help either, although there is a narrative of each patrol all it gives is the aircraft type as above. My last hope is Lieutenant Price's Log Book but an internet search has revealed nothing so far. I have seen some pictures of 29 Squadron aircraft - which bear the squadron letters RO. I assume that the colour scheme would be standard intruder scheme with Night undersides and by September 44 at partial invasion stripes.. Any information would be great fully received, or if you know of the whereabouts of any source of information that could lead me to the identity of this aircraft or aircraft assigned to 29 Squadron at the time it will be greatfully recieved... Many thanks in advance..

I came across a forthcoming set from Quickboost for a set of resin seats for the DH Mosquito: They are listed as being for a DH Mosquito Mk.IV/Mk.VI or Mk.XIII. While these look very nice, they sure do not appear to resemble anything that comes with the intended kit (Tamiya) or any pictures that I have come across. I'd say that they look like they belong to another aircraft type. Can anyone comment on these?

Hi guys, I not want to keep you back from this nice dio depicting an engine change no a Mosquito over at Modellversium.de. The level of detail is just great and the mud is easily one of most realistic I have ever seen modeled. I hope you enjoy: http://www.modellversium.de/galerie/9-flugzeuge-ww2/11978-diorama-motorwechsel-bei-dh-mosquito-1-48-tamiya.html This is - unfortunately - not my model and I don't know the builder (Mike Garamond) either - just thought you guys might like it. Cheers, Michael

Big weekend, managed to complete two models. Her is a completed one from the shelf of doom. I am not sure why I put this aside, but it has been sitting there for the best part of 2 years. I suspect it may have been I had lost heart after having some issues with the decals and also because I didn't want to deal with the undercarriage, which I had found fiddly the last time I made this kit (as a B Mk IV), and made a hash of that time. I was reminded of it when rummaging in my paint supplies and finding the pot of own-mix PRU blue (and no, I cannot remember the recipe, other than it contains Tamiya acrylics). Finished as a PRIV of 540 Squadron, RAF Benson. Final coat of Italeri Acryl flat varnish. Only just had enough of the own-brew PRU, down to the very last dregs. I used Clearfix for the camera windows, found it a bit hard to handle. All in all though very happy with how it turned out. Build thread here. Thanks for looking.
