I have obtained the lovely little AZmodel kit of the Auster AOP Mk V (AZ7294). I am very keen to build the Australian version however sadly the decals for the roundels are badly out of register. If anyone is able to help, or can point me in the the right direction to get the correct roundels could they PM me? Many thanks Simon

Hello Folks, Here are some more of the models that I had to try and rescue recently following a disaster with the matt varnish, they are three 1/72nd scale Spitfire`s wearing the high altitude fighter scheme, although only one is actually a dedicated high altitude aircraft! Closer views- First, the AZ Model Spitfire IX in the markings of 451 (Australian) Sqn on Corsica with the early improvised Vokes filter, made from a Mk.V unit (thanks for the help with the decals on this one Graham!); Next, the Airfix Spitfire IX wearing 94 Sqn RAF markings, based in Egypt during 1944; Finally, another AZ Model kit, the Spitfire VII wearing the markings of the Sumburgh Station Flight in the Orkneys to protect Scapa Flow. The DU codes were also worn by 312 (Czech) Sqn but the Spitfire was utilised by each squadron as they rotated through the station and it wore the DU codes when other units were stationed here too,.....but were they originally applied by 312 Sqn? Hope you like em, cheers Tony Edit- I forgot to say that I`m very impressed with the AZ Models Spitfire`s, especially the Mk.IX which appears to be a later revised kit with updated mouldings.

Having some AZ kits in the stash, I decided to try to build another stright (okay, "kind of stright") of the box. As I hate spending cash on aftermarket unless really necessary (seatbelts), I expect some cutting, some stretched sprue toying, (ab)using some hypodermic needles, Just to give you an idea, I will try to achieve something like this: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234929894-spit-mk22-pk312/

Hi all! Just about finished this little model. As a graduate of Oxford, and long-time RAF Modeller, I always felt a bit embarassed that I'd built the Airfix Chipmunk in Cambridge UAS colours, but had no OUAS aircraft, or indeed a Tiger Moth of any kind! I bought the Airfix kit ages back but its total lack of resemblance to a Tiger Moth scared me witless-it's still lurking like a bad stain in my stash! So I was very pleased to buy the new Tiger Moth from AZ and finish it in a lovely post-war yellow scheme as T6026 of Oxford University Air Squadron in 1946-7. WIP is here, suffice to say that it generally builds very nicely, the only real issue is that the lower wing is too long by 2-3mm and needs some removal of material at the wingroots to make the interplane struts sit vertically. Hope you like it! Comments welcome!

The last kit to present this year from me - it's AZ Model's 1/72 Spitfire XVIe in their new "HQ Tool" boxings (red label). This means AZ Model are now producing their kits using metal molds which greatly improves sharpness of detail, fineness of panel lines and general assembly fit. In my humble opinion, the best Spitfire ever from AZ Model. Welcome to the Champions League! The model represents a plane from RAF 421 Sqn, Reinsehlen, May 1945 - decals come from a Sword kit (I've received a sample of this kit from AZ Model via IMPS Austria, including only 'foreign' options: Greek, Belgium, French, South African but wanted to build a RAF machine). Colours used are from the Gunze/Mr.Hobby range. Weathering with artists oils and pastel chalks. Thanks for looking, have a great start into 2013 and looking forward to all those model kits you will be builiding within the coming year! Cheers from Vienna Austria Roman
