  5. would anyone know of a match in acrylic for this, I,.m sure i,ve seen it somewhere
  6. Is that the one at boscombe? notoriously difficult to get pictures as she is now due the sensitve nature of the site. however , our club chairman was a photographer at boscombe , so I will have a word to see if he can oblige, cannot promise anything as a lot of archive stuff was junked.
  7. would love to have seen the c133, I remember when the now defunct museum at lasham had thier starfighter delivered by hecucles happy days (sigh)
  8. its me just being careless really, note to one self , to move models off the workbench when having a break!
  9. would anyone know if the eduard etch sets and canopy masks for the hasegawa or trumpeter kit would fit? I have heard that the quickboost exahaust will not fit as well
  10. I seem to be plauged with disaters, just finished painting the revell 109G left it on the bench to have a break , came back to find one wing melted and managled, seems like the can of airbrush cleaner fell on its side and laeked covering the area and ruined the cutting mat as well. kit completely wrecked! oh well we live and learn , or not in my case! the second one was with the trumpy mig 21F , I built up most of the major assemblies , placed them in the box lid and went to make a cup of tea, came back when I smelled burning, and saw that the lamp arm had swung down into the box , burnt a hole in the side and rendered one wing and part of the fuselarge into a molten mess. its getting extremely frustrating ( and expensive)
  11. anyone know the best match for US navy seaplane grey in acrylics Tia rogerd
  12. The only info I have is the A L Bently drawings, but photogarphs are rare - I have been reserching this off and on for a while.if I find any thing i,ll post it on here (subject to copyright issues) I will be down at yeovilton in a couple of months, so I will take pictures
  13. there are dark rumours about a 1/32 , but I agree, a decent 1/48 is needed - what is so wrong with the monogram kit, I,ve just started to build this but have noted where improvements could be made, but only minor things
  14. thanks, thats more or less what I suspected - I have markings for a red white checker tailed USAF RB26 and a french B26C, I believe that the french reinstalled the wing guns, but have yet to see photogarphic proof
  15. first off , would anyone know of details / diagrams of camera fits for USAF RB26,S, secondly for machines that were turretless, what was installed in the redundant gunner station? I assume that both the above had all wing gun / gun pods removed?
  16. having some problems with 1/32 techmod decals for FAA hellcat, would anyone purchance have the sheet and have the large 430 cowling markings , along with underwing roundels going spare? TIA rogerd
  17. Thanks , just confirms what I suspected
  18. Mastercasters do a set , order direct from their site
  19. something else i,d forgotten to ask--- wing guns , blast tubes or exposed perforated barrels?
  20. Thanks for the additional info, just have to check the serial of the machine I will be modelling
  21. dThanks for the replies, one bomb and no rockets- the official potted history of 1844 mentions dive bombing attacks. BTW when was the change made from TSS to glossy sea blue? would both MK1 and MK 11 be seen in TSS or MK11,s in GSB only
  22. building the trumpy 1/32 kit , just wondered about the weapons - did FAA hellcats ever use 5" rockets or bombs in combat? i know some late hellcats had rocket stubs fitted, but I,m looking at machines from 1839 and 1844 squadrons, so would these be applicable? I would not have thought that both rockets and bombs would be carried at the same time, but I would be happily corrected one other thing- would FAA hellcats have the glazed area behind the cockpit hood, or would it depend on it being a -3 or early -5 model
  23. Have you tried adding flow retarder to the paint mix? - make sure the needle tip is kept clean, a soft brush soaked in cleaner works fine. another tip , which may help ( alougth I have tried it yet) is to use lubricant on the needle, im sure is availible from most suppliers
  24. thanks guys for the advice, funnily enough while looking for something completely different , I found said instruction sheet. they are waterslide with overlaying film that needs to be peeled off think I,ll try some test ones first
  25. I have found some FCM decals to use on my brazilian albatross , but have read somewhere that this range works differenty from normal decals, if this is the case , can anyone help with correct method of application? - I seem to have mislaid the instruction sheet that came with the decals. Thanks Rogerd
