  6. I was just about to post about the meteor, so excuse if I hijack the thread a little - need a new canopy for mine , any ideas on how /were to get a replacement?
  7. Would these still have retained fully furnished cockpits to enable manned flight? just ordered the alley cay conversion for the HK meteor apart from wingtip pods and arieal fit - any other mods I need to worry about? many thanks Rogerd
  8. in the middle of building the meng kit and intend to paint up in the scheme applied to this airframe. could anyone confirm the wing topside colour , the call outs suggest a single green (RAF green or RLM?) or would it have two tone splinter. is this the same airfarme that is now at cosford, if so they might have records?   9. in my opinion the trumpeter hurricane is one of their best, go for it you will not be dissapointed
  10. in the picture second to bottom, the gun ports are open - I always thought the blast tubes protruded - anybody have ideas on this? Roger d oh, by the way , happy and peaceful new year to you all!

  12. you could prehaps model a -3 from the kii if has the rear fuselage windows engraved on the inside? I cannot remember if the rear windows are included.. plenty of camo options for both far east and NW europe

  14. could anyone confirm if marine land based F4U,S had the tail hook removed? I,ve lost the one for the Tamiya kit and clucthing at straws a bit. Regards ROGERD
  15. The tamiya birdcage corsair is a candiate - absolute joy to build, markings a bit bland, but, then they were in real life got mine for £89 at telford , halfway through it at the mo.

  17. just started this, and am confused about colour call out for the tailwheel / tail hook interior. any body know what colour it should be? also the panting guide suggests a grey for the underside on the three tone scheme, I was under the impression that it should have been white? - I am not inferring that tamiya have got it wrong, but just confused. anyway so far its been an absolute pleasure to build - attention to detail is astounding. regards Rogerd

  19. fair comment, sort of makes sense, on one hand I hope sales stand up for airfix, so they can invest in new products, but on the other wait 10 months or so and get another cheapish! have to have a good look round at telford, I really do want to buy another - lovely kit

I have built 2 of the Mk11,s so cannot comment on the prop, but as far as I am aware, no resin wheels are availible.tried looking for these myself a year or so back one of trumpys better effort- airscale instruments and placards would be a good investment. great kit and good luck with the build
  21. I find it strange as well, agreed we as buyers benefit , but how do traders make a fair profit? - got my jav for £35 at yeovilton, but in the local toyshop its £50 Regards Rogerd

  23. Yes kinked pylons are included, there are four standard pylons and 2 kinked rogerd
  24. just in case anyone has not seen the latest newsletter , alley cat have announced conversion sets for the airfix kit to produce most if not all versions they will be officially annouced at telford next week looking forward to those nearly finished mine in just over a week! really enjoyed the build, some issues , but I think its me rather than the kit
