  1. Thanks, you don't see the upside down suspension parts! I used some of my wife's ultra thick medium mixed with desert sand acrylic paint. It gave the paint some thickness and lightened it just a bit, worked good as the dirt / sand in Afghanistan is usually a little lighter than the color of the MRAPs. Thank God for magnifying glasses.
  2. Ok, here is my Kinetic M-ATV with added auto turret from LiveResin. This kit was over my head, probably should have done some other things before trying this one out. Had a few fitting issues, had a lot of issues with really small parts. I built the seat belts out of masking tape and use some of the spruce for the buckles. I think it worked out pretty well. As for the dash and interior colors I didn't stick with kit instructions or some of the pics, I wanted to add some interest. From the pics I realized I need to put the wipers back on, add the lenses for the spots and put the one indicator on the front. Thanks for looking.
  3. I have Plastic Weld but have had issues using it. Guess I need to go on YouTube and watch some videos on it. The superglue I have is the Gorilla band, I like it much more that the other brands. We also use it to glue the tires on our R/C cars.
  4. Adding some images. Have the chassis almost complete. Wanted to get to this point as I'm pretty sure I'm getting airbrush for Christmas and want to use it. Got to fill in around bumper and get it looking better. Missed the two tabs on the cross piece. Going to sand them down. Didn't want to buy the interior add-on so I used painters tape folded over and painted for the seat belts. Cut off a small piece of the spruce for the center buckle. I think once it is mounted inside the seats will look good. I choose to point the seat Olive Drab with some sand highlighting. I remember looking inside of a couple of these and the seats were pretty dark. Also seems to get closer to reference photos over what Kinetic calls out to paint them. In the back ground are some of the interior bits I've put together and painted.
  5. Started the Kinetic M-ATV. Been wanting to build a M-ATV since I saw one while working in Afghanistan. I would have taken many, many pictures of them if we weren't threatened and warned to not take pictures. The only other kit I've build in the last 20+ years was a Revel Easy Star Wars kit I finished a couple of weeks ago. I've read many of the reviews and look through other's build of this kit - thanks all! It isn't easy and I've made a few mistakes already but in the end I don't think they will matter much. I will post some pics soon. I have found that using a gel super glue seems to really help. Much easier than plastic cement. Any issues using it? I know, do not use it around the windows and such.
  6. I actually ran across that while working on this one.
  7. It was the Revel easy kit. I thought about putting lights in it but that was after I glued most of it together. I'm thinking I might do another one with lights at some point.
  8. First time posting here, also first model I've completed in many, many years. Hopefully first of many. Originally got this for my son a few years ago as he wanted to put it together. Ends up he doesn't have the interest. Came across it after we moved, decided I would work on it as practice before starting on the Kinetic M-ATV. So here is the Star Destroyer with shading, weathering and such. First time on that also. Ended up using all Acrylic paints and a little bit of pastel chalk. Might be over shaded a bit but like the look. I do know that I had too much shading, didn't get excess cleaned up good in places. Have to thank all of the people that posted their pics of this before. Changed the painting of the engines based on some and got some ideas. Please give me feedback. Know I need to improve but think I did an OK job. I By the way, my son loves it. Sitting in his room now.
