Not quite, got back to my only non gb build yesterday whilst I primed the sprues and haven’t yet started yet, will start it at some point in the next week
-
Few purchases the last few days, first up a new bike seat from the river people prime day deal, old one was “on the way out” (actually should have gone weeks ago least I got a nice discount for waiting) and had an airfix hawk in the basket I hadn’t realised was there. Then yesterday ordered a wireless phone charger again at sizeable discount and tonight eBay informed me I won a Skymarks American Airlines 767 for a cheap price even considering it’s sans box
-
I think probably not. not see any photos of the real thing carrying anything but a centre line tank, cheers anyway
-
Indeed but in a strange turn I found some mojo for a large personal build today which has put it from future bin fodder to back to progression so no more extra commitments, I want to see that done
-
Primed and ready to go, in a good mood, got half the sanding in the big project that appeared in my phantom thread briefly done so that is back on the bench for a repaint once the second half is done
-
Deleted my corsair thread as the spitfire that replaced it went wrong, I have since discovered the reason the corsair didn't stay my entry, that being the soft edged camo wouldnt actually be an issue in 1/72, would be fine finished as hard edge however I had already put in a bid on an alternate entry which is now on route, should be a fun build so no reason the corsair can't join in as well

Well its together, forget how nice and simple these kits actually are, its the decals that are PITA, though revell have made one mistake, was a gap in the up flaps that shouldn't be there but nothing filler can't solve
-
Should be a fun quick build as it’s the new airfix starter kit, then again I said that about 3 eeeks ago when I started the starter Eurofighter which I’ve just binned, but to be fair that was the stupidly fiddly paintwork the raf had chosen for the special scheme I was doing plus me deciding getting back to it in when my bench room is an oven making drying time seconds was a smart move. Anyway the river people delivered it just before sunset and it will go for sprue priming first thing
-
With plenty of time left got a second entry, just waiting on the river people to deliver it
-
Indeed, a good bit of luck I had that bit, anyway it is now decal early with plenty of time to spare..........suddently that demo one I chose this over is looking tempting
-
Made a start, as I'm not having the bay open on this one that skipped a few steps
-
Discovered the gun barrel bit is almost certainty in my general waste wheelie bin so had to sub a bit thats clearly not up to the task but its the best I can do., pva drying on the canopy so it will be deca ready later
-
Underside was easy, now sanded and painted, now just the cockpit and pilot
-
Funny enough there is now another kit not in the image I posted earlier as finally acquired a spare canopy for a trumpeter J-11........still no closer to narrowing it down
-
Bit more progress, been lazy and not done the engine intakes properly with a ring of white and exterior colour but instead did it all steel, too fiddly
-
Only problem is I have the decals spare already having built the kit twice . So I’ve just go myself an 8 pound tail wheel. Then again I’ve remembered I had the spare decals as I built two of them very very early on in my career so they can’t be that bad right…right Edit: Well its arrived, decals are rubbish, horribly lurid shade of not sky on the codes , however I've compared it by eye to the eduard, doesn't look that bad, got plenty of spare mkix decals so will get built at some point
-
Yep, decided on a hawk as I’ve not built the new airfix starter tool yet and that should be easy and fun only to find the scheme of chosen was an early 90’s one…I then went to order something non modelling on Amazon, didn’t realise the hawk was still in my basket so I’ll guess I have no choice but to enter an 80s wrap around hawk in this
-
Been saved from myself, the scheme I want to do on the jag is a 90's-00's on...of course it doesn't stop me buying something else to squeeze in..........
-
Just a bit, had to do it twice as I'd misalgined the rear bit the first time which became obvious when doing the front bit, and the middle thin bit broke fortunately above the frame line where it is camo. Anyway its now decal ready
-
No worries the edited message is to thank you for the very kind offer and to say not to bother, I've purchased a spare hasegawa canopy on ebay that I know fits my kit perfectly unlike the vacuform, much appreciated offer
-
Ak interactive, good to see you, did you get my message and more importantly the edited version re the canopy? Irony in the paint as gunship grey is objectivity darker than RAF Dark Sea Grey which is what Dark Camo grey was formulated to act as a lightened countershade for
-
Finally some sanding done and some painting, in this case with an raf dark camouflage grey, an appalling effort from that brand, way way darker than it should be but by chance it’s close to a brand of paint that is objectively measured to be a good match for gunship grey so perfect for this
-
No I must not enter a jaguar now, I must start my anzac builds instead
-
Cheers, not quite decal ready today, 4 peice canopy drying time has prevented it, pic will be edited in later
