avrojet Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Hi Can anyone explaine what the differance is between the two aircraft types. I wish to use the Italeri 1/48th T-6G and model a Kiwi Havard MK II from it if possible. Thanks Mark
MODeller Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Hi Mark, I believe the differences to be the exhaust length and the rear canopy is different on the Harvard, will attach pics. T-6 Texan Harvard There was a boxing of the Canadian Harvard which included these changes but I cannot remember whose box it was in! MODeller
Jennings Heilig Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Technically (if you're talking about a real T-6 and not a model), the T-6G as a remanufactured a/c (zero-timed) post-war. They did away with the center vertical frame in each sliding canopy section, added a spinner, etc. AFAIK no model kit ever done has been an accurate T-6G, even if that's what it was called. I'm not that up on Harvard anatomy, but not all Harvards had the curved, fixed rear canopy piece. IIRC, the Harvard Mk.II was the same a/c as the T-6C. Always, always, always, always check photos and compare details when thinking about building any kind of a T-6/Harvard. J
Seahawk Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 AFAIK no model kit ever done has been an accurate T-6G, even if that's what it was called. I always thought that in 1/72 the Heller T-6G and its Academy clone were quite good. What flaws have you found with them?
