Just a quick in-box review of the Legend Productions 1/35 LF1212 Special Forces GMV Conversion set for the Tamiya Humvee/Academy 1350/1363 kits.

I got the kit came from Lucky Model, and took about 5 days for delivery, using the 'free' mailing option.

Parts came in a sturdy box, with bubble wrap for the resin parts. Parts include separate zip-seal bags for resin (approx 100 parts) and PE (approx 80 parts) and excellent colour instructions (although no instructions for the PE, Eduard type instructions would be a plus, but parts are all vet self-explanatory). Also included is some copper wire, 1.0mm thk. 60mm x 70mm clear acrylic sheet, 20mm x 40mm lead sheet and decal sheet)

Resin parts are excellently moulded, with crisp well defined details and no air bubbles or defects of any other kind.

PE parts are made of a thicker brass when compared to Eduard, but not as thick as Trumpeter, fold lines are clear and well defined also. Parts are clearly numbered.

Overall assessment, this is a fantastic kit of the highest quality and comes highly recommended. (I also got their LF0120 US Vehicle Gunner and LF1040 Rivet Set, which are of equal quality and detail standard)

The kit will sit on my to do list for a while, hopefully not too long. Pictures below.

Nice Detail Set. Looked at that one myself, and was doubtful I could do it justice. Also a nice chunk of coin for it too, if I remember right.

It worked out at about £45, although no import was charged.

I agree it's not cheap, especially at the base kit only cost me £10.

I can see why it cost so much - resin casting isn't cheap, mainly due to the cost of the RTV and the time consuming nature of casting. Add the high part count, and PE is also far from cheap to do too. The detail must be fantastic with all those new parts though - what're you waiting for? Get it built! :)

There is a Stryker at 40%, although have been distarcted with figures of late. Start of last week of holidays, so stryker will get a good rattle and then onto this one, although the Legend FRAG 5 conversion is also looking rather tasty !. Have been looking arround for a good diorama to put them on, bought two MiniArt sets, the MINI35535 Farm Entrance with Wall and MINI35540 North African House to act as a starting point, but am now looking at some sets made by monroe perdu.
