Hi guys

Wondering whether any of you have any photos/plans of the inner wing sidewinder pylon fitted to Omani and Singapore Hawker Hunters. I have tracked down a few partial views of the pylon but need to find a a full view to help complete a project.

Thanks

Just wanted to bump this topic back to the top.

I too would like to know if anyone had line drawings, photos, or suggestions on how the pylon looked and fit on there.

It just seems to me that the location of the pylon with a rail and a sidewinder would cause it to interfere with the main landing gear

I'm just finishing an Omani Jag and would love to build an Omani Hunter to park next to it

Everyone's help is greatly appreciated

Cheers!

John,

I seem to remember this cropping up a while ago. I know the Swiss used them, have a look at this web site,

http://www.swisshunters.info/

Hopefully you should find some photos.

Isn't google a wonderful thing?

I wanted to know the answer to this for a future Singaporean Hunter and a Whif.

First off found this website which whilst it doesn't provide what you need, it provides LOTS of useful reference material.

Then I did a little bit more searching and found this image - does it help?

Also, in the back of my mind (a far, far away place), there's a distant recollection of articles on both Singaporean and Omani Hunters in an old ecition of the IPMS UK Magazine, I'll have a rummage later and see what I can find.

The Singapore and Omani Hunters had totally different pylons than anyone else. Let me dig out some pics and drawing i did myself for my 1:72 Gulf war Omani Hunter, not finished yet though ....

Yeah, thanks!

When I googled, I didn't come up with anything so photos and drawings would be great! I'm planning on building my Hunter in 1/48th scale so I could just scale the drawings up!

Man, I wish my dad would have been more into photography when he deployed to Thumrait in 1984!

Cheers!

Fortune smiles upon us!

In an earlier post I mentioned that I had a vague recollection of an article in an old IPMS-UK magazine on Singaporean and Omani Hunters - well I was wrong about the Omani bit but it definitely has some info about the Singaporean Hunters and a scale drawing of the additional pylon with a note discussing its location from the centreline.

Anybody interested in a scan?
