Eastern Express Ground Equip.

I was going through eBay looking for some EE kits (I don't know why) and came across some of their ground vehicles. Has anyone had experience with them? Good quality? Worth the $20 for a couple busses? If not, are there any other manufacturers that have ground equip. kits? I'm not really wanting to hand-make any out of styrene or paper as the outcome would be horrendous. Thanks!

All the best,

Drew

Hi Drew

I've got the EE aircraft tugs set. They are typical EE - by this I mean not good quality, poor fitting and in my view over-priced. But, like all other EE kits I've experienced, with a bit of effort they can be turned into something reasonably presentable.

There are very few options for 144 scale ground equipment for creating a diorama. There has been a previous thread on this: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234952857-airport-gse/?hl=airport

EE is therefore probably a reasonable route to go for buses, tugs, etc.

I'm building a large tug to go with my Zvezda 777-300ER and will post some pics when its done.

Hope this helps

Tim

^ I can recommend the Rocascale tractor in the above link, and the GPU. Guilleme is now working on a container loader.

I've got the EE tugs and buses. Not started yet but the quality looks okay to me.

Braz does some GSE but these appear to be lacking on the detail side http://www.brazmodels.com/gse.html

North Star do a nice Toyota set http://northstarmodels.com/product/1144-toyota-2-td-25-tow-tractor-2-in-1/and some Russian stairs.

Preiser do some airport worker and passenger/crew figures but the passenger/crew ones are imposible to find right now.

Extratech do PE luggage carts.

I believe AIM are doing some of their military GSE in 1/144 and some are used on civilian airfields.

Sankei do a very nice card jetbridge.

There's a German seller on eBay who sells resin tractors (mainly Schopf in 1/72 and 1/144) and assorted ground equipment and a couple of tankers. I can't remember his name, but I'll link to his products when I find them. They're of reasonable quality - haven't bought any yet - but intend to soon.

Edited: the sellers name is Bier-sepp.

Have a look on eBay for his stuff (I found it by searching "1/144 Schopf")
