It's almost here now.

Anyone else pre-ordered? and what version have you pre-ordered or plan to buy? It's due on 19th November, this month and already pre-ordered the Premium De Luxe ver again, there is one option higher, with gimmick stuff stretching to about £200, with toy aircraft collector edition stuff, not for me, even though it does include a few more Aircraft.

I chose XBOX platform again, purely because that's what I did with  MS 2022, and also because I have an XBOX 1 that I can play FS2020 with amazingly well on my TV when I don't want to hit my FS PC ... nothing wrong with Steam option of course, love Steam for my other stuff.

When I ordered, was told I will be charged about 10 days before the 19th release, so not long now.

Bit dubious about how it's more reliant on people's bandwidth speeds to load from cloud, rather than long downloads to store on local HD ... honestly don't mind that because I have a well specced FS PC with lots of fast access to disks. M2 and otherwise.

My speeds are semi OK for N Scotland, about 75 MB down and 20 MB up, we are awaiting full fibre soon here, It's well overdue, and when it happens will be the first to sign up.   Otherwise, my FS PC spec is far more than good to go :)

All the same, really looking fwd to this :)

Just had MS Store charge my card for £129.99 GBP on the 10th (just now) just like they said they would ... its looking good for a 19th Nov release :)

Yeah ... I know it won’t be perfect on day one, it never will be .... but kinda excited to test the new evolution of MS Flight sim once again, all the same :)

Been around MS releases since FS4, only MS Flight ... remember that one? Bombed so disastrously, that sim/game was dumped by the actual bean counters at MS after a year or so, this is fact.

I think, MS bean counters told Asobo, to release on the 19th, ready or not, to get a return on money, and It's clearly not ready for release, either are their servers.

This is just the worst software, major launch I've ever seen in my entire life.

Even previous MS Windows release like 10 and 11 were seamless, nothing like this.

Am sure their servers might meet full capacity in near future, but feedback from trusted sources, its not a good launch, and feedback from the few folk that have managed to download it, its all far from positive, very nice loading screen that entertain us of course, but it repeats and gets boring vert fast.

Been trying to download this since 3AM. Its now 12 + hours later.

Not good, and am a big fan of this genre.

Starting to see good improvements now ... as far as global bandwidth distribution and loading times are concerned.

It now takes about 8 minutes to load from clicking start icon to presentation screen, took me hours initially with lots of fails and restarts and crashes, lots of content still lacking, there is no doubt this release is not really ready for the global market they pushed for, neither are their servers :)

One of the big positives ASOBO pushed for was quicker loading times and a smaller disk space install in order to introduce scenery ETC in a potentially faster streaming fashion to their customers who used to complain about FS2020 loading times and a bigger hard disk install, so far, that's still way off target, my older MS FS2020 loads much faster and is a smoother flight experience with it all installed to my local disks, fine-tuned with lots of third party apps, ETC.

Managed a few flights now, nothing more ambitious than in a Cessna 172, it was stutter free and quite smooth to be fair (mostly) ... view distance is much better, it's just all a bit raw now IMHO, lots of bugs still, but I now feel they can overcome these early start problems.

Hope so.

I uninstalled it and got a refund on Friday, I wasn't able to get it to run despite having a good PC and internet and just didn't have the patience to get my head around controller assignments! I'll come back to it when the forums indicate that it's settled down, but after paying £200 on a pre-order, I was expecting to at least be able to do some VFR flying to appreciate the eye candy that it offers. Sticking with 2020 for now as that's running well.
