diamant
Hi, My father is finishing our Tiger Moth series and I have started to look for our next projects. We are very close to achieving one of the key points in our goal which is building all the German aircraft used or tested by the British / Commonwealth with the "new" markings applied. We have done 137 models and these are the missing ones (we still have to do a final check) - B&V222 We only have one kit and there are two options. - Junkers 352 We have two kits which is enough (next on the queue) - Junker 52 We have 6 kits (not sure if it will be enough) - Junker F13 We have one model to build. - Brunswick LF-1 Zaunkonig (On the line) - Junker 86 We have 5 kits to do (SAAF). My father has started with the Brunswick LF-1 Zaunkonig but we only have some references from the internet. https://www.a-e-g.org.uk/zaunkoenig.html Does anyone could help us with the colour?. Which could have been the colour applied? I am referring to the photos with the RAF markings applied. Thank you very much Cheers Santiago PD: This is the list of the models done so far ARADO Ar 96 B Air Minister 120 435 DSRU ARADO Ar 196 A3 W Nr 1006 No. 333 (Norwegian) Squadron Royal Air Force ARADO Ar 196 A3 VM748 ARADO Ar 232 B0 Air Minister 17 ARADO Ar 234 B-2 Air Minister 24 ARADO Ar 234 B-2 VK877 Air Minister 26 ARADO Ar 234 B-2 AR234 Air Minister 226 BLOHM AND VOSS Bv 138 BUCKER Bu 131 B --- 1941 BUCKER Bu 181 C-1 Bestmann W Nr 4022 VM 215 BUCKER Bu 181 C-1 Bestmann --- BGA 338 Minimoa --- DORNIER Do 17 ex Yugoslavian Dk 17 --- 1941 DORNIER Do 22 306 No. 2 (Yugoslav) Squadron under the control of No. 230 Squadron 1941-1942 DORNIER Do 24 T Early 1946 DORNIER Do 24 T DORNIER Do 217 M-9 AM 7, WkNr 0040 --- DORNIER Do 217 M-1 AM 107 W Nr 56158 --- DORNIER Do 217 M-1 AM 106, W Nr 56527 --- DORNIER Do 335 A-1 Pfeil --- DORNIER Do 335 A-12 Anteater --- FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch Air Min 99 --- 1945 FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch NM+ZS No. 3 Squadron RAAF --- FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch HB FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch Desert Air Force Communication Fligh, February 1943 FIESELER Fi 156 C-3 Storch VP546 FOCKE ACHGELIS Fa 223 E Drache --- Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment (AFEE) --- FOCKE ACHGELIS Fa 330 --- Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment (AFEE) --- FOCKE WULF Fw 58 C-2 Weihe TE+BK AM117 --- January 1946 FOCKE WULF Fw 189 A3 WNr 0173 --- August 1945. Ed Russell
One of my colleagues built one of these....... https://www.scalemates.com/topics/topic.php?id=11647 in RAF colours. From memory, aluminium dope with roundels and serials on fuselage, underwing serials only. I think this was his main reference https://www.prints-online.com/aviation-images/brunswick-zaunkoenig-xv190-parked-18413802.html
diamant
Hi Ed. Thank you very much for your comments on this topic. We will probably go for the aluminium dope. There is a second photo on that site which shows the roundels underwing. https://www.prints-online.com/aviation-images/brunswick-lf-1-zaunkoenig-18400284.html Does anyone know what this inscription reads? Cheers Santiago
BritJet
The LF kit gives RLM02 as the overall colour (standard Luftwaffe colour for trainers/prototypes I believe) and when tested by the RAE the German markings were painted over with a slightly darker grey. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/lf-models-7243-th-braunschweig-lf-1-zaunkoenig--162272# https://www.somanyaircraft.com/models/aips/patriot-200808-page4.pdf I don't think it was finished in aluminium dope as there aren't any reflections or shiny parts to the finish. The inscription says 'Zaunkonig'. Steve
diamant
Hi Steve, Thank you very much for your post. I think that I will go for the RLM02 as the overall colour with a slightly darker grey for the German markings. Great. We will ask to our friend for that inscription in order to be able to do this model. Cheers Santiago

diamant
Hi Steve My father has finished the model. We will ask our friend Luis for the decal for the inscription that says 'Zaunkonig´in order to finish it. It is a nice addition to our collection of captured German aircraft. Cheers Santiago
