JasonC
Hi All, Does anyone know whether the red radiator 'no-step' markings were standard on wartime Mosquitos, and whether they would have been re-applied following a repaint (for example applying the bomber scheme to an already painted aircraft)? Currently debating whether to apply these on my B.IX. There aren't that many period photos that show the area; and in those that are the markings often aren't apparent. I'm not sure whether they were absent, or just not particularly visible in photos. thanks, Jason
Work In Progress
Certainly on factory paint. Not necessarily re-applied following work. Note on the well known sequence of ML963 it looks as if there's een some recent renewal work in the radiator area and the No Step has not been reapplied . Nor has the green camouflage Edited January 6, 2020 by Work In Progress
JasonC
Thanks WIP. Might leave them off then. A bit of a shame, as the HGW 'wet transfers' I'm using would have got around the risk of large areas of carrier film! J.
Work In Progress
Up to you but I'd put them on unless I had some photo evidence to suggest they'd been removed at the stage of life I was modelling the specific aircraft.
