Dave_R
Hi All, This build got stalled at strange semi-primed stage:- My airbrush was clogging up and I never got round to picking it up again. It was the easiest kit to build I've ever come across virtually falling together. So next more primer and then a grey/green camo scheme. Dave_R
Hi All, Looking a bit better now. Hopefully now this won't be a repeat of the Starfighter mess. Dave.
stevehnz
Yes please, the Mustang III in that 112 sqn scheme is just about the best ever. Steve.
Dave_R
Hi All, The underside has been painted medium sea grey. I've used blu-tak worms to mask it as the few photos I've found of RAF mustangs in Italy show a soft irregular edge to the camo, ...now with ocean grey. Next, more Blu-Tak worms and then on with the dark green. Dave. Edited November 20, 2018 by Dave_R
Dave_R
Hi All, Masked and ready for painting ...and painted. That's most of the painting done now. Next will be adding u/carriage, prop etc. Dave.
Dave_R
Hi All, It's nearly done. There is some tidying up to do yet. Neatening up the undercarriage bits, adding pitot and aerial etc., matt varnishing and weathering. The carpet monster has eaten the fuselage nav. light, so I'll have to scour the spares box for something suitable. The decals were a real pain in the posterior - thick and fragile and and the shark mouth wouldn't go around the curvature of the nose - there's a few wrinkles, but it has gone on. Gallery photos to follow. Dave.
