Artie
This evening, I started building this nice parasol winged airplane...It's the Mirage Hobbies kit, in 1/48 scale. I've noticed something completely new for me: It's got what seems to be a landing flap in the starboard wing only, giving the plane a slightly assimetric look.....At first, I thought it was a moulding issue, but found some pics wich confirmed the kit was right. .What's the use of such feature...??? Any other plane with the same arrangement..???? Best regards....
303sqn
Nothing to do with flight. It was part of the wing folding mechanism.

KRK4m
Rogalski and Drzewiecki used similar feature in their later a/c too. Just look at the RWD-13 liaison/ambulance high-wing monoplane that also featured wings folded along the fuselage. The two trailing edge "flaps" close to the fuselage are also only the sections folding upwards for wing storage http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/000421707L.html Cheers Michael
