Incredients so far: REVELL MiG-25RBT 1/48 Begemot MiG-25 decals and stencils Metallic Details long type R15-300 exhaust nozzles Cold War Studio BM conversion set and rear fin hook improvement quite a lot of resin in here! thanks for looking, comments and suggestions! looking forward myself to tackling this beast!
  5. from the fantastic 50s NATO v Warsaw Pact in Europe GB: still time to vote gents if you'd like by the way!!! just learned recently that MiGs were based in Austria in force once!! around 40-50 MiG-15s were based there in the 1950ies! MiG-15bis Soviet Airforce 59th Air Army Wiener Neustadt West Airbase ~1950-1955 Trumpeter 1/48 Master pitot and canons Cold War Studio fin correction Some PART PE some some contemporary photos... I'd really like to see a photo of an Austria based MiG-15!!! so if you have any hint on where to find one..... thanks for stopping here and leaving a comment! Werner
  6. I feel the urge to build a second kit in the GB! just learned recently that MiGs were based in Austria in force once!! MiG-15bis Soviet Airforce 59th Air Army Wiener Neustadt West Airbase ~1950-1955 Trumpeter 1/48 Master pitot and canons Cold War Studio fin correction around 40-50 MiG-15s were based there in the 1950ies! from the great GB chat thread: CIA reports from Austrian the occupation time 1945-1955 are available publicly nowadays: have a look if you are interested! The airfield obviously only had a grass/ earth runway, still MiG-15s and occasionally even Il-28s operated regularly and in force! e.g. https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/search/site/WIENER NEUSTADT AIRFIELD https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/document/cia-rdp80-00810a001600730006-8 https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP80-00810A001600730006-8.pdf no pictures unfortunalety! so if someone has a photo of a Austrian based MiG-15, that would be gorgeous!
  7. Hi all, Here is one of three Eduard MiG-21s I've just finished. This is their 1/48 MiG-21bis kit with Begemot stencils and main decals and finished in Mr Color 8 Silver. This was from the Weekend boxing with a Cold War Studio resin nose added. Full write up at https://jonbryon.com/eduard-148-mikoyan-gurevich-mig-21bis-fishbed-l/. Comments welcome, and thanks for looking. Jon
  8. Hi all, Cold War Studio don't seem to be in a hurry to release a nose for the mig-27 and their BN nose is the only game in town so far. So... In terms of general shape, could the bn nose be used to make a 27? I know probes etc. are different but I wondered whether one might be steeper or longer or whatever. Thank you for replying!
