  1. Thats the one. Thanks for that. I'll leave a drink for you behind the bar of my local. Chris
  2. In need of the instructions for the 1/32 scale Tamiya P-51 Mustang. Can make do with a scan of the cockpit only. Please don't ask why, its embarrasing TIA Chris
  3. Thats looking rather nice. It's making me think I want one.
  4. About to start a build but not happy with the kit panel lines. They appear to be in the correct places but are that deep and wide that they would look more at home on the Somme. I would like to fill them and then rescribe to a much better size. Seeing as Milliput and Squadron filler would be of no use for this, is there anything out there that would work? TIA
  5. Can anybody with the Tamiya Mossie help me out with the colour call out for the fuselage fuel tanks? Chris
  6. Thanks for the advice. Looks like the Airfix kit for me then.
  7. Quick question. Which is the best kit, Airfix or Revells re-boxed Italeri offering.
  8. I'm glad somebody else couldn't find it. Thought I was having a blonde moment.
  9. I'll appologise first off because I've a couple of colour questions regarding K5054 and no doubt they've been asked many times. These relate to time period before first flight. 1) Cockpit interior is Eau de Nil and not interior grey/green. Correct? 2) External colour call out gives it as Zinc Chromate Green. Can't see this being correct as it's a US colour. Is it a case of mix a similar colour and let somebody prove it wrong? Before anyone asks, it's for the CMR kit. Cheers Chris
  10. Thanks guy's for the info. I'll have to give them a go now. Chris

    Xtracrylix

Probably been asked before but what the hell. Never used xtracrylix before but I'm willing to give them a try so here's a couple of questions. 1) Do they need xtracrylix thinners or will any thing else do. 2) What the ratio of thinners to paint? 3) Do they take as long as some of the xtracolour enamels to dry? TIA Chris
  12. Not forgetting the crew enterance for the bomber version was on the underside of the aircraft and not on the starboard side, as on the fighter. Also, the small glazed panels on both sides of the nose as well. Chris
  13. Not a repair, it's where the invasion stripes have been overpainted. Take note of the darker grey nose piece, possibly an unpainted replacement panel. Chris
  14. Nephew of mine is a car body sprayer so he can get me some 4,000 when I ask. As for the 2,000, local car spare shop stocks it.
  15. 254sq Mk.XVIII TseTse Mosquito. Spinner colour was sky with a white band. Chris
  16. I've used Halfords plastic primer and the Halfords standard primer and can honestly say that I've not noticed any difference between them regarding finish. They also works well on resin. As stated by Tony, only spray light coats so as not to melt the plastic. Chris
  17. My choice of wet & dry for use on painted surfaces is 2,000 to 4,000, which is also known as flour grade. for other uses anything from 1200 downwards is ok. Chris
  18. The item I've sprayed has a complex shape and looking at it, I thought it would be easier to spray the enamel colour first then mask off for the Alclad. Also doing it that way, I would also have the correct finish to the colour and Alclad, if that makes sense. Never gave it a thought that the Klear Cotes would be celulose/lacquer based. For some reason I had it in my head that it was acrylic based. Don't know where that came from. Chris
  19. Quick question. Can the new klear Cotes from Alclad be used as a primer, over a coat of enamel, for the normal Alclads? Chris
  20. I know it's been a while since my last update but as I said before, my job takes me away from home for a few days at a time. So here's a quick one. First 2 show the difference between the AMS nose ring and the kit offering. AMS piece is on the left and clearly shows that it's a lot rounder in all areas except for the beak. Next 3 show the gun panels. Again AMS resin replacement parts being used. First one shows the kit panel and replacement panel together so the gun troughs can be compared. Third one shows new panel fitted. Will look a better with a coat of primer thrown at them. Avionix cockpit has been shelved.I have seen the AMS pit and decided to order one and use that instead. Only thing is, it's got to come from America. Thats all for now Chris
  21. Chris Liberator B-24J 42-52003 was a brand new aircraft that was being delivered to the 93rd bombardment group as a replacement for one of the squadrons lead aircraft. Because of this, it carried the H2X bombing radar. As for the markings, I'm afraid I can't help with that one. HTH Chris
  22. Thanks for the help. I'll get in touch with him. Chris
  23. Have been mulling over an idea regarding the slatted wings for my 1/32 scale, RAF Sabre F.4. I'm thinking of trying to buy the sprue that has the required wing, from out of the F-86F-40 kit. My snag is, who imports the Kinetic range into the UK and what are they like to deal with? Chris
  24. Not much done lately as my job takes me away from home for days at a time. Have done a small amount since last posting and I willl post some piccies soon. Chris
