  1. Thanks @Farmerboy It's a real fun kit to build, and I'm looking forward to see if I can paint it right. I'm thinking of getting the F-104 cockpit as well, and I totally agree with you that there should be more kits like this. /Bosse
  2. Hi. More parts has been glued. The IP coaming is ready for primer. I've not glued in both sides for the HUD. I'll keep one unglued so I don't have any problem gluing the clear part later on. I've also not glued the projector lins; I'll do that after painting. 006 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The rudder pedals has been cleaned from flash and are ready for primer. 007 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The ejection seat is a bit warped, and I got a small gap around the head rest. But a small piece of plasticard and a clamp will get that fixed. 008 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also have a small step between the sides and the backrest. I've put some liquid sprue along the seam and I think I'll get rid of that after sanding. 009 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The instrument panel is ready for primer. 010 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And speaking of primer, I've got a small sprue forest ready now. I think I can glue some more this evening and perhaps start priming on Friday evening. 011 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse
  3. Thanks Gents. I think I'll have more pictures to show you all later in the week. /Bosse
  4. Hi. I got an urge to glue plastic this weekend, I hadn't planned to start anything new before the Nato GB, but... A few weeks back I bought the Italeri version of Esci's F-16 cockpit in 1/12 scale. I wanted this kit as a kid, but then I couldn't afford it. But now I have and it's so nice that I couldn't let it rest in the stash. 001 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I started with the tub and it went rather good I'd say. It shows that this kit is over 40 years old, and every part has to cleaned from flash before putting any glue on it. 002 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also done the major parts on the ejection seat. There are some sink marks on it that needs to be filled before any primer. 003 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the backside with the hydraulics. I'll be gluing this to the seat after it has been primed and painted on the inside of the seat. Not much will be seen, but I'll paint the inside anyway, 004 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've made a start on the IP coming. 005 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Even if this is a 40 year old kit I think it looks rather nice, and it'll be fun to see it completed. To be continued..... /Bosse
  5. Hi. I've now masked of the engine area on my Flanker. I spent most of Saturday putting on minute masks on various panels. And since I'm not using a set designed for the Great Wall Hobby kit I had to do some masks myself and I used some roundels that was intended for something else. On some panels I used a roundel that was cut in half and then filled out between them with regular masking tape. Somewhat tricky in place, but on the whole quite fun. This is what I want to re-create. https://www.maphotosg.com/singapore-airshow-2016su30mkm/ Click for some great pictures. And I've already done the lighter silver colour, and I've made a first attempt on the darker colour. I've mixed Xtreme Metal Jet Exhaust with Gun Metal. But I'm thinking it still to silvery. So I think I'll add more black to it and respray this. 176 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 177 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr My plan is when this is the colour I think is right is to take Xtreme Metal Blue and thin it very much and then mist it over the black to get that blue hue of the burnt panels. And perhaps do the same with gold paint over the silvery panels. I've ordered a set of paint masks for the exhaust nozzles and when I get them I'll start working on them. To be continued..... /Bosse
  6. Hi. I've had another productive weekend. My little Ukrainian drone has got some decals. First the Gannet nose art. The decal was on the thick side and a bit brittle, but with a few treatments with UMP Strong decal adhesive it went down real well. 038 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And about three hours later I had all the main decals on. 039 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 040 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 041 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I still have around 30 something stencils to add, and the decals on the ordnance. But I think this one is now on the final stretch and I think I'll have it finished by next weekend. To be continued..... /Bosse
  7. Hi. I'm pleased to say that I'm able to continue on my Flanker now. I need to get it of the bench before the start of the Nato GB. So to save time, and my sanity, I bought a set pre-cut masking sheet for it. The set is actually intended for the Kitty Hawk kit, but it was the only one in stock at Super-Hobby, and I thought that I could try it since it wasn't very expensive. 172 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The set comes with two A4 sheets of instructions, and I'll start on the topside of the engines. 173 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 174 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And was real easy to put them in place. 175 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll continue masking this evening and I hope that I can spray some metal colours during the weekend. To be continued..... /Bosse
  8. Come to think about it it quite resembles the IR ball the Su 24 carries on top of the fuselage aft of the cockpit. /Bosse
  9. Great work @Anders E I've got the same kit in the same livery planned, so your approach on this is exactly what I need. Thanks for posting it. Verkligen snyggt byggt och målat = Really well built and painted, for you who don't speak Swedish. /Bosse
  10. I actually got two more kits to my growing F-16 collection yesterday. I noticed that I was missing an A-version for one of my planned builds this year. 20240124_203502 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I also discovered that I needed a D Block 50. I had purchased a C/D box, but that is the Block 52. So I bought the new Kinetic Gold D Block 50, and I plan to cross-kit it with the Block 52. I'll take the spine from the Block 52 and put it on the 50, and that way I can build what I've planned. And the 52 can still be built as a C Block 52, for which I have several options that I can do. 20240124_203522 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I also got one of those kits that I missed as a kid. Esci's F-16 Cockpit in 1:12 in a Italeri box. 20240124_203740 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This one will go directly to the bench without passing the stash. I'll put up a WIP thread for it during next week. /Bosse
  11. Interesting, I think it's looks like some sensor of a kind similar to the disco light that can be seen on helicopters. /Bosse
  12. That's a nice collection. I hope you'll post pictures of them when you come to build them. /Bosse
  13. What a stunning Tzefa, a real gem to look at. @starfighter84 /Bosse
  14. I'd also like to play. I don't normally do WHIF's, but I got 2 F-16XL's that I've planned to build as Israeli WHIF's so this will be the perfect place to do them. /Bosse
  15. Thanks a lot @reini I'll try and make as much work on these I can before my GB season starts in April with the Nato GB. /Bosse
  16. Hi. I had a real productive weekend. And I even got to work om my Swedish aircrafts a bit. I had to respray the anti glare shield on the J26. A bit scary to mask over the decals, but it went OK. 432 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also put the final varnish on it. I used Mr Paint Semi gloss on it to tone the shininess down a bit. 433 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I also sprayed the Sk60. On this one I used Mr Paint Semi Matt to dull it down, but not fully matt. 434 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And both together, the picture doesn't show the full difference that can be seen with your eyes. 435 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse
  17. Hi. Some more progress on my Ukrainian drone. On Friday I glued the tail booms and the rudders in place. 030 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 031 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 032 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And as can be seen I'd have to putty the wings seams a bit. 033 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And on Saturday morning I sprayed some primer on it. 034 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Followed by the paint later on Saturday. 035 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr On Sunday morning I sprayed the first gloss coat. 036 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And later in the day a second gloss coat. 037 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll see if this has fully cured tonight and if it is I might start with the decals. To be continued..... /Bosse
  18. As I've said earlier, two is still a collection. Love the Agressor one /Bosse
  19. Nice Giorgio 2 built is still a collection. I like the colours on the Korean KF-16. Must remember to add one of these to my collection, perhaps that could be my 2nd entry in the upcoming ASIA GB. I'll will build my two XL's as Israeli What-if's some day I think, if I don't do them as the prototypes, or buy two more and do both. /Bosse
  20. Nice collection Nils. I think I'll have to build me an YF-16 again some day. I remember building the Monogram version as a kid. /Bosse
