  1. Yes indeed! Just adding one little point: According to the quite recent book by Japo Publishing: „Messerschmitt Bf 109‘s & other Aircraft of I./EKG(J)“, the markings of the Fw 190 D-9 W./Nr.211115 “18+~“ (Pilsen 1945) should be DARK BLUE (with a thin white border). Well, however, the same Japo Publishing company expressed and explained in their magnificent, but some years earlier book „Fw 190 D camouflage & markings pt. I“ their opinion about the same A/c, that it sported a RED 18+~. Perhaps Italeri took their information from this otherwise generally very reliable source. Btw., to all Focke-Wulf-Longnose-aficionados: let’s not give up the hope for the Japo Publishing company to issue really soon the allegedly coming Part III of their excellent Fw 190 Dora books, at least during our remaining lifespans😉!
  2. There was a rather nice 70’s vintage ESCI decal sheet (No. 38) featuring several Do 17‘s and Do 217‘s with interesting unit badges. If you like you may have a look at it on scalemates.com. And it can still be found repeatedly on evil bay.
  3. Could it be that the BV 222 as one of the Revell announcements for 2024 will finally be a BV 222 C with Jumo in-line Diesel-engines? Please, Mr. Revell!!! Oh, I’m sorry, just a hopeful but stupid idea, isn‘t it? 🤷🏻
  4. Dear Steve, thank you very much for your kind and balancing words! Howard
  5. Dear dov, thank you very much for your reply. When you say „the aircraft mentioned is already well done here too“ and if you mean the Ju 188 in general or especially the 1H+GT, you are absolutely right. There are even Ju 188-Kits and several decals on the after market exactly for the Ju 188 with this coding. But I hope I made it recognizeable in my posts in this thread that the main emphasis of my interests and questions lies on the 1H+AT, which to my impression has been widely neglected in the world of aviation historians and modellers, in spite of its background. I would really be very grateful to you, dear dove, if you could tell me, where in this thread, the 1H+AT was „well done (aside from my own explanations). In my second post in this thread I asked, if anybody knows some kind of photographic reference of the Ju 188 1H+AT, but I noticed no answer (which I find absolutely okay). Then I searched the net by myself and found photographic evidences of this plane, which were new at least to me in the world wide web. And which make clear, that probably in contrast to the photographic evidences of the 1H+GT (which is the initial focus of this thread) the 1H+AT WAS equiped at least with the FuG 200 (as the Staffelkapitän’s a/c). And perhaps I was a little bit naive thinking, that these findings may be of interest for one, two or three other members of Britmodeller (or perhaps even more). If there is actually some interest in the Britmodeller community, I am happy. If not, it doesn‘t disturb me, if nobody reads my words. And if the whole Britmodeller community knew about the things that I was happily reporting, but only me didn‘t know anything about it, I‘m actually the one to blame for my ignorance. And I certainly didn‘t want to bore you! Perhaps it was my mistake to bring my general interest for the Ju 188 and my special interest for the 1H+AT into this thread, risking some sort of mixing things up. This was never my intention, and I apologize for this. That‘s all for now and for the foreseeable future! My holy promise! Finally I must admit that unfortunately I ‘ve been suffering from acute Corona infection for some days and perhaps I‘m to a certain degree weakened by the associated „brain fog“!😟
  6. And here’s a link to a short compendium of WW II Luftwaffe airborne radar with a lot of illustrations: https://www.luftarchiv.de and look for „Bordgeräte/Radar“ on this site. Before entering it, you may be asked to declare that you don‘t adhere to extremly right-wing ideology, by simply putting a checkmark at an indicated spot. .
  7. On these two (at least to me) hitherto unknown close up fotos you can see on one foto the Ju 188‘s outboard FuG 200 antennas from close distance as well as on the other one the according radar screen and its installation inside the cockpit.
  8. Oh, I see, I made something wrong, sorry. My last post was to refer to SafetyDad‘s post which I in error simply replicated before writing my post. I beg your pardon, dear SD and all the other gents!
  9. Oh, I forgot to mention, that if my just above descripted assumption was right, this would possibly shed some light on the „mystery“ of the further above mentioned Ju 188 A-3 1H+AT of the defecting Luftwaffe crew. So the picture of this a/c would have been made on British soil.
  10. From my point of view I would rule out that these two Ju 188‘s are one and the same aircraft. Inspecting my own copy of monografie lotnicze No. 34 from close range I‘m quite sure to see a black or dark-grey „A“ with a thin light coloured (yellow?) border on the rear fuselage of the Junkers with the gun in the upper turret, and after that I guess a „T“. Or am I victim of a certain bias occupying my mind? Anyway, I ‘d just like to put up my consideration for discussion. Cheers! Howard
  11. Talking about Ju 88’s and Ju 188‘s of KG 26 in Norway in 1945, does anybody know the look and the radar equipment of the Ju 188 A-3 W/Nr. 190335 or 190355 (varied informations in literature), code 1H+AT, 9./KG26, which defected intact with a German Luftwaffe crew to Scotland and landed in Fraserburgh on May 2nd, 1945? Pilot Olt. Rolf Kunze. Are there any known fotos of this a/c?
  12. For those fellows who are lucky to own the following 1/72nd kits: the horizontal antennas are provided by the Special Hobby Ju 388 (No. 72021, p1+p2), the vertical antennas can be found in the Revell kits of the Ju 290 (No. 04340 and No. 04285, parts 115). So long! Howard
  13. Dear Dave, thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately this model in deed seems to be unavailable, I didn‘t find any clue at all. Well, perhaps we can hope for a future new model edition of Jeremy‘s tractor, this would really be fine. Cheers! Howard
