  1. Thank you. Painting the shields was a lot of fun. In real life the horses have more subtle color transitions. The photo probably has a bit too much contrast.
  2. In the Battle of Grunwald/Tannenberg in 1410, three banners took part under Leliwa's banner. They were the banners of the brothers: Jan of Tarn贸w (voivode of Krak贸w) and Spytek of Jaros艂aw, and Wincenty of Gran贸w (castellan of 艢rem and starost of Greater Poland). My knight with his aides will represent Wincenty of Gran贸w. The Perry Miniatures set allows you to make only a few knights, whose armament and appearance match the early 15th century. 28 mm figures are a completely different matter than 54 mm, let alone 75 mm or 90 mm. I will try other techniques for painting horses, including dry brush. We'll see what comes of it. For now, I have painted the shields and started painting the horses. Best regards, Piotr

  5. Your version of the banner is fantastic. Regards P
  6. Your horse reminds me of a painting by the Polish painter W艂adys艂aw Podkowi艅ski from 1894. The title of this painting is "Frenzy of Exaltation"
  7. Fantastic work, as usual 馃挭馃檪
  8. Hi Mike The banner is from the times of the Vasa dynasty ruling in Poland at that time. Probably King W艂adys艂aw IV or his brother John II Casimir. Looking at the hussar's armor, it dates from 1650 to a maximum of 1672, when John II Casimir died. Cheers Piotr
  9. Thank you very much for your kind words. There are a few historical inaccuracies in this figure, but let's just focus on the painting. A distinguishing feature of hussars over the years was their yellow or red leather boots. The hussar holds a royal crown banner in his hand, but its central field is not visible and it is difficult to determine which king we are talking about. Therefore, it is difficult to determine from what period the banner is from and whether it fits the hussar's equipment. Cheers Piotr
  10. I haven't been here for a long time and unfortunately I missed the start of your work. As usual, you're doing fantastically well. The topic is close to my Polish heart If you need to find some Polish sources of information about the hussars, I'd be happy to help you. Best regards, Piotr
  11. I like your work. Thank you for the interesting description. I like it when the figures are not anonymous. Regards Piotr
