    Primer

What do people use as primer? I have tried the Halfords tin stuff thinned, but not sure it's the same as the rattle cans. I just don't get on with cans, so would like to find out what people use through their airbrushes. I will be using a mixture of enamels and acrylics. rich
  2. Bex The nose gear is there, so thanks for the offer. Just un-slotted stabs I need now to make and FGR2. rich
  3. Will get back to you after 7ish. cheers. rich
  4. Thanks Bex. Thats really good of you, will check the kit tonight. P.S. How come you are not airbrushing yet like Mish? rich
  5. Thanks guys. Will have to see if I have sprue D in my Hase FG1 kit. rich
  6. Could someone please tell me on what sprue the nose gear leg is in the Hasegawa/Revell 1/48 Phantom FGR2. rich
  7. You're not kidding Thanks for advice on Sunday Mike, although my wallet would have preferred you had said they were . I think I need two, one to caress and keep clean and a really dirty one . rich
  8. It arrived from Obeeliks today , top dealer, fast, helpful and reasonably priced . What can I say , what a piece of kit. Everything said so far is spot on, did I say . Just got to get it dirty now . I thought my Badgers were nice, but there is just something subtly superior to the construction. I now have to decide which badger/s to pass on. See for sale section. rich
  9. Hi Peter Well I have ordered it, so we will see what happens. I went for the fineline nozzle kit, as the parts breakdown shows both being compatible and Obeeliks don't list a seperate fineline Infinity, just the two in one. It appears the other type of nozzle with the holes is an Evolution one (numbers match) and H&S just refer to the non crown type being clear-view nozzle cap. What Mike said makes sense, in that the distance cap will only fit the clear-view type and not the Evo type. What is even more confusing is if you download the pdf spare parts list from H&S, this lists both nozzle types as being fine line, just refering to one as needle cap and the other as air cap . So thanks for the help guys. I need :beer:and more . rich
  10. That makes sense. God knows why they give an option, although I suppose your needle is more protected with the evolution type. Thanks for the help. rich
  11. Cheers again Mike OK last question I promise . The 0.2 nozzle is available as two types. The fineline one and the normal. Which do I need. I had considered getting the fineline nozzle set (two point one #126833) and the other type of nozzle cap set (circular with holes #123763) to give versatility, if it's needed? rich
  12. Thanks Mike , you just saved me some cash FPC off the list . I am using an old Morris and Ingram pressure regulator/moisture trap and it seems to control flow pretty well, even on the compressor at work. I will get the 0.2 nozzleset pack as this includes all the necessary bits I think . Will def be getting spare seals and tools. One last long question, well till the next dumb one anyway . Is the side feed paint jar thingy worth it for large jobs? or is the large paint cup better, not that I can find out what it looks like, just listed in spares as 15ml paintcup. Ooh do you get lids with the cups, as I am really good at pouring paint on the floor when I get distracted . rich
  13. Guys If I get and Infinity, do I need to get the 0.2 needle set? Or will the 0.4 be good enough for most work. I assume the 0.15 is like the XF on badgers and useless for anything other than inks. Is the 0.6 compatible? Plus which tools do I need to get? It's all bloody confusing. cheers rich
  14. :shithappens: Thanks for even discussing it Phil. rich
  15. Where is the best place to put this to get better exposure . With only three people in so far, doesn't look promising . rich
  16. OK I have contacted Phil to see if it would be possible to produce his washes in the primary colours. This with the combination of his new Black, and Light (white is not possible), would allow very subtle washes to be mixed that closely match the underlying paint finish. This would give endless possibilities to weathering of panel lines, subtle, not so subtle etc... Sort of the panel line equivalent of pastel shading. If there is enough interest then Phil could do this, but it has to make economic sense. So who would be interested on here? I would like to see a small five pack starter set in bottles half the size currently available , with all the colours available individually in normal sizes. rich
  17. Mike I would be interested in a set of those. How much for shipping? and how do you want paying. Also cheers for the heads up on Sprue brothers. Package shipped today and USPS is showing notification from supplier, but too early for tracking yet. Lets just hope the postal services at both ends don't stuff it up. rich
  18. Does the infinity come with a hose from Obeeliks, or do I need to order a quick release one and if so which one the PVC or braided. rich
  19. Ok I was going to put this in the bank, but paint didn't seem to be listed and with all the Nimrods and soon to be PR9's around I stuck it here. If it's wrong I have two full tins of Humbrol Hemp paint for anyone in the southwest (FREE). They were purchased Years ago, but i have just opened them and checked, given them a good mix and they seem fine. They appear to be a satin finish and are from two separate batches. One is HX8 authentic colour, the other is 168, Hemp BS4800/10 B21. They dry the same colour as far as I can see. If they are of use to anyone let me know. rich
  20. Splendid stuff. Flew in XZ936 several times whilst with ETPS and used to see 341 every day. Just managed to talk myself out of doing TPS stuff, now I want to do it again, thanks . Well, better get a Hawk and neomega upgrade, but would love to do the T5, but I don't have an Airfix F1/3 kit, YET . Then there's a T2 Jag and then the 1-11, darn it then a T7 hunter. oh, the Lynx, Scout and somehow the Andover. rich
