  1. thx have to admit 4 little buggers - dwarfs - took me 2 -ish weeks to paint, on the contrary to skaven - easy job maybe its just all in my mind... some more shots: cheers
  2. thx stools were first to fly towards rat ogres, made out of modeling foam and toothpicks had not enough patience for cups though - only one that is spilled, part of Jo Bugman 'kit' which I inserted into the flooring. Cheers PS. More pics in link below: http://mikesmodeling.blogspot.com/2015/07/bugmans-raid-5.html#more
  3. Hiya, My next Warhammer build... Because my fantasy stash has grown to quite a size, thought about using more than one miniature per build... After completing Queen Khalida got in the fantasy mood again (and got break from military), chosen skaven - the underworld vermin of the Old World and Dwarfs. I am not really keen on short, bearded folk, but Skaven raiding party had to have worthy opponent during daring raid for famous ALE Figures are coming from few different sources: 3 dwarfs - champions with hammer & gun, Trollslayer - from old issue of boxed game - Battle for Skull Pass, Jospeh Bugman (the one with the stool), metal model is available from Bugman's Pub at Warhammer World in Nottingham. Skaven are mostly from newer edition of boxed game - Island of Blood, warp gun team, Warlock engineer and rat ogres, but skaven warlord (one with shield) is a Games Day figure from 2011. Cheers
  4. thx figures are 1,5 inch tall, base size 4 x 4 inch cheers
  5. Hiya, Latest project finished Venom Queen Khalida from Warhammer range with leftover bitz from Necrosphinx box... More here cheers
  6. Seen some of these builds at shows - great looking dios! Finally something different to ever popular military & flying thingies ... cheers
  7. Hiya, Latest 'weekend' project, 32mm AxFaction figure with scratch built base, giant's head from Warhammer range. Cheers
  8. there is ju 52 (ba version) in cosford museum and usually available to general public at open cockpit evenings.... been seen and tried not to lick it
  9. If you like to see more, click link below: http://mikesmodeling.blogspot.com/2015/03/xendra-draconia-70mm.html cheers
  10. thx I do like painting things red.... or blue not the first figure done in reddish armor Cheers
  11. Hiya, My first 70mm figure, painted using tamiya & citadel: Cheers
  12. hiya, I've got IP in my stash too and after building heartbreaker armor (which was painted before putting together) started thinking about solution for patriot. looking at your build can say you are half way through at least. Silver/metallic areas are small after all according to painting scheme - so could be masked off first and whole model painted either red or blue then next color masked off and last one applied.... that was my idea how to proceed with the painting scheme..... maybe itl'l help maybe not, but am curious about the outcome Cheers
  13. main idea was about fallout really - that's why radioactive paintjob yes it is clean, could not find anybody having this bike to take a picture of dirt accumulation! but, as one of friendly bikers said: it does not really matter as we like keeping our machines clean! cheers
  14. Hiya While exploring new fields of modeling, I came across motorcycle kits, though about trying one. Picked Honda CBR 1100 from Tamiya in 1:12. The kit was not very complex or difficult, few bits & bobs could be done better but it feels like right step in new direction. Something completely different from all that military!! Cheers
  15. ofc I am, but dont like playing the same xxx times as saves are lost due to often updates... waiting for final version to come out. for now... I am going through all Fallout games (and themed movies) to find as many ideas as I can, and there are many! - of only could find suitable kits... well, if not, will be trying my skills & building from scratch xD I think now, post nuclear reality suits me the best, also like ww2, but that feels too common nowdays... everybody makes tigers, shermans and other JerryScrap. I will explore world after the bombs fell. cheers
  16. Hiya, Glad you liked it, but all I really wanted was simple base for the figure... ended up with vault entrance. All apart from figure was built from scratch. I did little update to the base as it looked too bare, printed out some original Fallout graphics and Fallout logo with Pip boy and simply edged it, now I hope makes more sense to what it is, once I heard - "you built star gate mate?" - what is interesting idea too... Next diorama, but not next build (Marvel figures are awaiting for better than provided paint job^^) is Brotherhood of Steel vehicle, I will not say more, not to jinx it;P got the kit in my stash already, hunting for figures now... Regarding other builds in Fallout style here's my first diorama titled Harriet's Triumph: Cheers
  17. All Fallout games are great, Fallout 3 was obviously the milestone, available for consoles and for wider audience. Fallout New Vegas has got Chris Avellone (might have misspelled that name) back in script writers team, who was responsible for storyline in Fallout 1 & 2 so it has more retro feeling than Fallout 3:) It is the first in line of my Fallout like dioramas, more to come in time, got few more ideas already, gathering materials & kits... If everything goes as I plan (well... ), next Fallout build may be in colors of Brotherhood of Steel. Am really glad you like it! From Maniacs, For Maniacs
  18. Thanks, this build took me some time though. Fallout 3 was/is great game, but 1st and 2nd parts are worth the time as well! Should run on any laptop/pc nowdays, have a try cheers
  19. Hiya For some time I wanted to do something totally different from regular modeling, ww2, fantasy or even sci-fi. This build is based upon one of my favorite games, Fallout, depicting very dark and gloomy post nuclear reality (still possible though ). Many probably heard about the game, some may have even played couple of latest installments, but I bet very few remember first and second part, dated back to late 90s. Fallout 1 quickly became very popular due to great story line, skill system (S.P.E.C.I.A.L), not exactly breath taking graphics, but extremely good gameplay. At first I just wanted to do single figure, converted from War Griffon's Lady Greagorian (was she vampire slayer?), but simple idea evolved into... well have a look yourself... For those who have no idea what is it about word of explanation: It all started with the sirens. Those lucky enough to escape fires of nuclear devastation took shelter in underground Vaults, stocked up with supplies to last decades, or even hundred of years. Decades after, in one of these Vaults, number 13, crucial component of sustaining life, the water chip controlling water purification, started failing. The overseer sent the most able of the small society to retrieve replacement from the closest known location - other Vault, number 15. When Vault Dweller arrived found Vault 15 deserted and destroyed... and this was just the beginning of the quest :mg:and subject of this build. Building thread can be found on my blog hope you like it:) Cheers
  20. Thanks for kind words:) Selection of Iron Man suits is rather wide, Mk XLII is on target, War Machine & Iron Patriot also available at local hobby shop (I dont buy online what may seem weird nowdays...). Got rather FIENDISH plan to build all the Avengers... Thor is awaiting on the shelf until I get confident enough about painting flesh (large models are more difficult after all as everything is visible at the first glance and simple paint job just dont seem right!) Dont know if I can handle watching all the movies (yet) again in short time, but that is compulsory when building such models. More definitely to come. Cheers
  21. Hiya, My first try in large scale modeling, Dragon's 1:9 scale Iron Man armor MK XVII kit bought at Shropshire modeling show this year for quite affordable price 32 GBP. Armor featured in 3rd movie. No fancy painting, no weathering. All parts airbrushed before assembly still in frames than put together. Fitting was great, have to admit even too great as I had to scrape paint off at certain sections (did not foresee such perfection) to avoid gaps (fraction of millimeter really matters here!). Nice kit, enjoyable build, that will bring another armors to my collection... Cheers
  22. thanks, the base was highly experimental, just looked at it and considered - what is still missing? (higher grass that's what is missing but somehow did not have right concept for it...) cheers
  23. it has received airbrush treatment with little color modulation, finished with tamiya wethering master (whatever some say about it, it is quite good for subtle & delicate weathering) I think I've missed some of uploaded pics - especially the characters of the drama: Still plenty to achieve especially on flesh areas, dont think I am going to paint next figures in bits, better to have all put together, gaps filled in and sanded down, obviously faces require little bit more attention but maybe next time Cheers!
  24. Hiya, Thanks for kind words, always give me "morale" boost: It is in fact my first diorama where I used something more than just modeling sand... Started with simple idea which evolved in interesting direction (so I hope ) Cheers
